Very pretty home. Lots of nature light. Neighborhood feels very safe. Only disappointment was we really could not swim in lake due to algae, but had a great time.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
The house is renovated and mostly clean, though the bathmats still had rogue hairs from the prior renters. I'm not sure they were washed. The kitchen has ample plates, silverware, drinking glasses and cooking utensils, but you need foil, seasonings, etc-no pantry items. Bring your own dishwasher detergent too, even tho they tell you to run the washer when you leave. The property feels secluded and private which is a plus. However, the listing indicates swimming and kayaking. Because the property is at the end of the cove, there is no water movement. It's stagnant, muddy, can't see any of the tree limbs sticking up here and there, and the walk in is treacherous. There are steps, which are helpful, but then rocks which are hard to navigate and no ladder to get in or out of the water at the dock. Our dogs couldn't get in the water, but the people in our group braved the muddy water, one time. The shallow rocky part does drop off so you could float, maybe, but the mud, and unseen sticks (we hope they were all sticks) made it so unenjoyable, we lasted only a few minutes and gave up. I had more mud in my swimsuit getting out of the water than I thought would be possible. If you are planning on any swimming on your trip, this is not the property for you, which since it was near 100 degrees, was a huge disappointment. Even sitting out to have coffee in the morning, was not the greatest, bc you are basically looking at muddy water.

From the owner: "Hi Mark, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly strive to provide our guests with a clean and comfortable stay. Please know we’re always happy to address any concerns if notified upon arrival. Regarding the water conditions, Lake Oconee’s levels and clarity can fluctuate with the weather and the time of day. Recently, levels have dropped more than usual, likely due to Georgia Power’s management of the lake for electricity generation. To address this, we’ve secured a permit to dredge the cove and dock area, and work is scheduled in the coming weeks. Several neighboring properties are also participating, as this lower water level has affected the entire cove."
