About this property
Cottage on Dickson - The Perfect Country Escape.
Step into the charm of Cottage on Dickson, located in a special corner of Victoria. Built in 1949 and lovingly restored, Cottage on Dickson is a heritage weatherboard filled with warmth and modern comforts in a town where tradition and country charm linger in the air, surrounded by rolling hills, orchards, and the winding paths of the Lerderderg Gorge.
Cottage on Dickson was lovingly restored as an extension of my own passion for heritage homes and heartfelt hospitality. Originally built in 1949, this weatherboard cottage has been carefully renovated to retain its character while offering the comforts of a modern, boutique escape.
The two-bedroom cottage comfortably welcomes 1 - 4 guests, making it perfect for romantic getaways, bridal parties, families, or travelling professionals seeking a restful escape.
From Sheridan linens and a stocked coffee station to the cozy electric fireplace, every detail has been designed to help guests slow down, feel at home, and enjoy life’s little luxuries.
The farmhouse-style kitchen is fully equipped, featuring an oven, hot plates, dishwasher, farmhouse sink, and a pantry stocked with essentials to make your stay easy. Guests will also find a thoughtfully curated selection of teas, a Nespresso coffee station, treats, and everything needed to enjoy relaxed mornings or simple country dinners. Your breakfast is taken care of, with a loaf of sourdough bread, oat sachets, milk, orange juice, butter, jams, honey, and Vegemite.
The master bedroom is a spacious retreat with a luxurious king bed dressed in Sheridan linens, soft pillows, and layered quilts for year-round comfort. The second bedroom features a queen bed, also styled with the same luxury linens.
The living room is a welcoming space with a velvet sofa, perfect for stretching out while reading one of the many books available or enjoying a movie on the Smart TV.
Bathroom with shower, vanity, and luxury Al.ive body products. Fluffy towels and a hairdryer are provided.
Laundry provides a washing machine, laundry tablets, softener, stain remover, and clothesline with pegs for longer stays.
As the day ends, share a glass of wine on the rear deck under the warmth of the above-head heater or on the front verandah overlooking the fairy-lit front garden, creating a magical spot to unwind and listen to the birds in the trees.
Just a short drive away, you’ll find character-filled towns, bustling local markets, and some of the region’s best country pubs—perfect for a weekend of exploring and unwinding
Cottage on Dickson is more than a place to stay—it’s a heartfelt retreat. A home where stories are shared, special moments are celebrated, and guests leave with the sense of having been embraced by the warmth of country life.
I’m so looking forward to welcoming
you.

About the host
Hosted by Tanya Fleming

I have always had a passion for home styling, design and renovation, after spending many years in the real estate industry. As an avid home magazine enthusiast, I love discovering new and inspiring design ideas. I also enjoy painting with pastels and previously owned my own fashion boutique—another creative chapter in my life journey.
These passions have shaped the design and character of my cottage. Every detail, from the thoughtfully curated interiors to the warm and inviting atmosphere, reflects my love for beautiful spaces. I hope you’ll come and experience the charm, comfort, and personality that make this cottage feel like home.
I purchased my cottage in 2022, intending to renovate and sell, but once the transformation was complete, I fell in love with her charm and couldn’t part with her. Now, I happily share this beautiful space with visitors to Bacchus Marsh in Regional Victoria. I hope you come and experience the warmth, joy, and true feeling of home she provides.

Why they chose this property
My husband and I moved to Bacchus Marsh in 2014 from a large town, and although Bacchus Marsh has expanded quite a bit since we arrived, it still maintains its country-town feel. There is so much to do in the area for nature lovers: walking tracks including Lerderderg Gorge, Werribee Gorge and Long Forest Nature Conservation Reserve, the tall timbers of Wombat Forest and finally, if your up for it, our 1000 steps and lookout, which is located in Darley. Strawberry farms, where you can pick your own with various other fruits, have been a summer pastime for many visiting Bacchus Marsh. The various wineries around the area, beautiful country wedding venues, and some of the best country pubs, are all within a 30 - 45 minute drive!
What makes this property unique
The Cottage has been thoughtfully renovated, blending refined decor with charming furnishings to create a welcoming and elegant atmosphere. The cottage provides, luxury linens on both beds, complemented by the softest, most comfortable mattress toppers and duvets for a restful night’s sleep. Guests are treated to complimentary amenities, including Al.ive Body hand wash, hand lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, ensuring a touch of indulgence throughout their stay.
As a host, my goal is to provide a 5-star, memorable experience—one that leaves guests with fond memories of their time at Cottage on Dickson and inspires them to return for another stay in the future.
