Overall nice experience. Clean, comfortable and in proximity to all that Seward has to offer. Front door needs to have a deadbolt strike adjusted to function properly and numeric lever to be tighten. My stay was for 2 nights and I was out all day exploring. Neighbors were quiet and no mischief was going on in the neighborhood ( always a plus ). Thank you Toni

Easy to find. Walking distance to harbor and city center( about a mile either direction). Quiet neighborhood. Cute layout and art. Comfy full size bed. Nice coffee counter with microwave and small fridge. Good communication with owner. Good place to hole up during the rain with WIFI, TV, movies, and lots of board games.
Our stay was very enjoyable. We arrived later in the evening and the hosts were accomadating. Entrance into the home was very simple. The home was clean and had a large selection of goodies (coffee, snacks, etc). We would definitely book again in the future.
My mistake, but there wasn’t a kitchen. We were planning on cooking our fish from our fishing trip. But it was very comfortable and clean. So if you don’t mind not cooking. Awesome! Thanks for letting us stay.
Honestly, I wanted to love this place but it is overpriced. For the record: I can get past the fact it hasn't been updated in years.
The space itself is large enough for two people to be enjoying on a rainy day without getting cabin fever. The decor in the bathroom is cute! The location really sells this place...walk either direction: to downtown business district for all your meals or up to the marina for fishing and scenic cruises.
Security and the mold/mildew in the shower are the biggest concerns. The bedroom window does not latch (owner plans to repair it after the season) and there is no security chain to lock from the inside to make sure no one accidentally comes in while you are there. Also, the arctic entryway does not lock and has no blinds - this would be an awesome space for extra gear storage. While you have the entire space to yourself, you are really in some rooms cordoned off from a larger house. There is unfortunately no outdoor space to enjoy. This is out of the owner's control, but the place next door is an eyesore. Front yard has junk and things everywhere.
Back to thus place...the freezer does not work. We put leftover gelato in and next day it was soup, so don't plan on frozen meals. We appreciated the snacks and coffee and tea, that was a nice touch! But calling it a kitchenette is a stretch.
Moral of the story: if you just need a place to sleep and store your stuff and this is the cheapest option, go for it.
This was a quaint little place right downtown Seward. It was close to a Free Shuttle stop, which was great because we arrived by train and didn't have a car. It was clean, had lots of amenities, like advertised and a few nice surprises, and in a quite neighborhood.
This location was easy to find and convenient to both the walkable downtown area of Seward, as well as more uptown areas (including the hub for our outdoor expeditions with Exit Glacier Guides and Liquid Adventures, both five-stars!). Clean, with comfy couch and bed, and enough amenities to give us a comfortable break from a mostly-outdoor vacation, and at a reasonable price.
No kitchen, but it says as much in the listing. It’s a great spot to use as a home base while exploring Seward, and the host set up a nice gift basket full of coffee pods and snacks. We’d stay here again!
I love being outdoors and seeking new adventures. I strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would also like to encourage you to get out and explore all that Seward has to offer. Please support local businesses. Local business is what makes this town unique and fun.
Why they chose this property
This property is conveniently located to almost everything in Seward. I am right in the middle of anywhere you need to go. Head north to visit the harbor, east to see the waterfront, west to climb the infamous Mt. Marathon, or south for downtown shopping and restaurants. Walking distance to all of the above! If you enjoy the night life, please leave your car parked here and walk! You have a private entrance so you can come and go anytime you please.
What makes this property unique
You have a private entrance so you can come and go anytime you please. The suite is decorated by local Seward Artists, so please enjoy our community's talent. This quaint old house is set up like a duplex. We rent one half to you and use our own private entrance so that you may enjoy your own privacy and schedule. Please note: We do not have a kitchen available for cooking. Supporting local restaurants is highly recommended, (the majority of which are amazing.) However, if you are on a serious budget, we do provide a mini fridge, microwave, and dining area for makeshift meals.
