We stayed for the week and it was amazing. Beautiful view/access to the beach, and an incredibly comfortable living space. We had everything we needed! Could'nt recommended more!
Our stay at this location was truly wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The space was cozy, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean—with every little detail thoughtfully arranged. It was well furnished and perfect for kids, making our family feel completely comfortable and cared for. We enjoyed quiet mornings with coffee and evenings relaxing together. The location was ideal for exploring nearby sights, and our hosts made everything easy and welcoming. We absolutely loved everything about our experience here and would happily return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special place to stay!
We spent 5 nights at Marcel & Joan’s waterfront cottage.Everything was perfect- from the thoughtfully designed decor to the breath taking ocean view.Inside the cottage it is clean & beautifully designed with plenty of space for family. We were 4 adults and 2 children.Everything you need was thought of for a wonderful vacation.Host answered my few questions in a nick of time.We had an absolute wonderful stay.Highly recommend this cottage.Thank you Marcel & Joan
Beautiful house near the ocean where you can go swimming. Clean with everithing you need. Close to the bridge but you don't ear it. The location in the island is perfect, you can go visit everywhere in a day and come back to see the beatiful sun set on the ocean. I recommend to everyone. Note that the restaurants in the island close their kitchen around 8pm , otherwise your're gonna eat macdonald lol!
We were extremely happy with our rental. Beautiful ocean views with spectacular sunsets. Attractive and clean home/cottage. Loved the labeled drawers & cabinets in the kitchen.
Marcel and Joan were lovely, they answered any questions promptly. The property was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Everything we would need was provided. We had a view of the beach - we saw horse ridering by the shore at night! The bridge is right there and looks very impressive!A large TV with Netflix, Tubi, and all the others were available. The internet was good and work was able to be performed with ease. The kitchen was stocked and everything is clearly labelled and we didn't have to go buy anything that would be considered 'essential'. Like salt, coffee etc..The washer and dryer were a Godsend too, we were able to not overpack! And the detergent and dryer sheets were provided. There was an outside shower to clean off the sand, a BBQ, clothes line. The only negative to our stay were the mosquitoes - there were a LOT! Not sure if it is like that all the time or just this time of year? We weren't able to enjoy the fire pit, corn hole or chill in the Adirondack chairs on the porch which was a shame. But the actual house and all that was provided 10 out of 10!

We‘re sorry the mosquitoes kept you from enjoying the outdoors while you were visiting. It’s not usually a problem during the day, but we do keep bug spray on hand just in case.
Ideal location and set up for the perfect stay on PEI. Every need has been anticipated from kitchen equipment to outdoor chairs, toys for children to clothesline and outdoor shower. The cottage itself is cleverly appointed with a private master suite on one side and two more bedrooms and a second bathroom located on the other side of a large bright kitchen/dining/living area. The interior design is extremely appealing with interesting choices of blues and grays, wooden ceiling, and bed linens in a dynamic burgundy. If that is not enough, the cottage is situated right on Northumberland Strait with a front row seat to the muted twinkling lights of the Confederation Bridge and the possibility of endless walks along the shore.
Joan & Marcel's home was amazing! We are a family of 4 with 2 sons (ages 8 & 10) and we stayed for a week at the end of June. The location is within 5 minutes from the bridge, and after driving 8 hours we were happy to arrive. We were blown away by the cleanliness, the layout, the size and of course the view! They even left a few goodies for the boys which was very kind. The main property highlights are: proximity to the best beach and view on the island, cleanliness, fully stocked kitchen, in home laundry, beach toys, cornhole game, firepit and comfortable beds. Gateway Village is super close so you can get your ice cream fix without driving forever. We took the 20 minute drive to Summerside for groceries although there is a local grocer who has the necessities near Gateway Village in Borden-Carleton. There were also so many little things about this place that just made things so comfortable for our family:Suitcase racks, nightlights in the bathrooms, fans in the rooms for white noise, labels on many drawers/cupboard, beach toys, marshmallow sticks, kindling, outdoor shower, high quality shampoos/conditioner/body wash and I'm sure I'm forgetting some as well. Joan & Marcel were the perfect hosts as they communicated promptly and respected our privacy. We will be recommending this place to all our family and friends. Thank you Joan & Marcel.
The house was excellent , it was fully stocked with everything you need and more. The set up of the house itself was really good as well. with the master on one end and the other two bedrooms and 2nd bathroom on the other end makes it good for couples or families. The furniture was new and comfortable and the sunroom was a great feature as well. There were lots of games, toys, books and puzzles as well if you wanted to use them. You could walk miles on the beach at low tide and could see the Confederation Bridge really well but were still far enough away to not hear it, the hosts were very friendly and responsive. I would not hesitate to rent this again

About the host
Hosted by Marcel Lapointe
As soon as we walked onto the land, we fell in love with this property. It took our breath away, and we knew we belonged here. We built the cottage ourselves and are excited to share this place that we love with others.
Why they chose this property
The views are the most striking thing at this location--the iconic Confederation Bridge, the Northumberland Strait, the quiet Carleton Cove, and the surrounding farmland. The town of Borden and Gateway Village are just minutes away with food and seasonal shopping.
What makes this property unique
Our location is very peaceful while still being handy to all that PEI has to offer. We can walk to the beach and have it all to ourselves most of the time.
