About this property

Backlash Lodge is located at the Venice Marina in Venice, LA. We have everything you need to rest comfortably during your fishing adventure! The lodge sleeps 7 adults. Three sets of FULL size bunk beds, and a couch are in the bedroom, all linens provided. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator and stove, microwave, and coffee pot along with a TV. The living room has a built in couch and TV. We have DIRECTV. One bathroom, we provide towels. The gas grill is located on the back porch. New central heat and A/C as well!

The Tv did not work, no Wi-Fi, no paper towels, molded dog food kibble in couch . Owner was and still is unrestricted text messages.

There were no check-in instructions even after asking for them. After we got to the marina, it took us about 45 minutes to find the houseboat as there are no directions either. There was a lock box on the door, and we were not given a code. The owner did not respond to emails text or phone calls.

Decent houseboat, couldve been worse. Houseboat isn’t stable and has a bad lean, also there was no toilet paper or paper towels. Very limited on utensils and pots and pans. AC doesn’t work the greatest, and the back “living room” with the tv doesn’t have AC at all

Backlash for opening Snapper Season

It was advertised to have a grill, which it did not. The back door would not stay shut, there were no pans to used in the oven. The skillet provided fit only the amount of two eggs. The portable AC units do not function, I had to use a power strip from the front room or go by one, there was mold on our pillowcases and/or sheets. 3/4 coffee cups were filthy with mud or something. We didn't have to check out until 11AM on our check out date but we were woken with someone drilling on both sides of the house boat, which soon became uneven and tilted. The bonus about this area, it was supper close to the marina on a busy/booked weekend and opening snapper season at a decent penny less than what the competition was. And right up the doc from our Charter Bayou & Bay Charter Services. I can cook and make the best of these sleeping conditions. I may rent again pending what else is available.
