The Space:

HeartStone Hill by Tiny Away is a bushland tiny house retreat near Castlemaine, just 35 minutes from Bendigo. Perched on a hilltop, the farm stay offers scenic views, organic produce, and wildlife encounters, making it a perfect base to explore Victoria’s natural and cultural treasures.



Nearby attractions include the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, Hanging Rock, Forest Glade Gardens, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens, and the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve.



A cozy 139 square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).



Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the tiny home, including a private pool and sauna located beneath the pool area. Both are approximately 80–100 metres from the accommodation. Please note that the main residence and studio are restricted areas.



Advisory:



- An outdoor shower is available for rinsing before and after use, and toilet facilities are conveniently located nearby the sauna and shower.

- Sauna: Our sauna requires about 45 minutes to 1 hour to pre-heat. Please let us know in advance when you’d like to use it, and we’ll make sure it’s ready and waiting for you.

- Outdoor Bath Tub: Relax and unwind in the outdoor bathtub located right on the deck of the tiny house. It’s available exclusively for Tiny House guests and can be used anytime, 24/7.

- Please note that CCTV cameras are installed on the property for safety, with the nearest camera directed at the water tank and fire sprinkler system, not at the tiny house or private areas.

Getting Around:

By Car:



- HeartStone Hill is a 90-minute drive (135 km) from Melbourne via the Calder Highway.

- Accessible by both 2WD and 4WD vehicles.



By Public Transport:



- Castlemaine Train Station is 90 minutes from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne.

- HeartStone Hill is a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk from the station. A local taxi service is also available in town.



By Flight:



- The nearest major airport is Melbourne Tullamarine, about 90 minutes by car or accessible via train connections to Castlemaine.

- Wifi is available

- Gas BBQ grill is available

- Smoking is not allowed on the property

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- The owners have a small, gentle, and friendly dog

- Outdoor fire pit is available, except a total fire ban

- Mobile reception is good for Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone; No signals for the rest

- CAUTION: Please be cautious during summer, as snakes may be present in bush areas

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge



Pre-orders with 24 hrs prior notice:



- Outdoor bathtub on deck

- Use of the swimming pool, during warmer months, as it is not heated in Winter.

- Infra-red (3-person) sauna is available. Guests must use a towel to sit on in the sauna. Please note it takes about 45 mins to warm up prior to use.

- You're welcome to use the BBQ grill—please clean it and the utensils after use, scrape and wipe the grill once cooled, and dispose of rubbish in the bins provided. Thanks for keeping the area tidy for everyone!



Fire Danger Period Notification:



The Mount Alexander Council has announced the fire danger period for this year. During this time, the firepit at the Tiny House cannot be used or ignited.

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
