About this property
A Carlton Classic Quaint Inner City Getaway
As timeless as Carlton's vibe, this character terrace ensures you'll feel right at home. Enjoy a peaceful location yet with the tram on your doorstep. You'll be a 15-minute ride from popular classics like the Fitzroy Markets, Carlton Gardens, Melbourne Central and Lygon Street—famous for its Italian dining scene. Come home to a private courtyard with free parking, open-plan living, a fully-equipped kitchen and three thoughtfully designed bedrooms that accentuate the stay's old-world charm.
Experience the timeless allure of this character terrace in Carlton, ideal for groups or families looking for a quiet inner-city haven and eager to explore Melbourne's offerings. Located near Rathdowne Village in Carlton North, this 19th-century Victorian terrace seamlessly blends modern updates with original heritage aesthetics.
Should you choose to stay in, the fully-equipped dining and kitchen area includes an oven, fridge, gas stove, cooking utensils, microwave, kettle, toaster, and rice cooker. Retreat to the living room, furnished with comfortable couches for reading or enjoying your favourite TV show. Portable cooling and heating keep temperatures comfortable.
Traversing through an ornate arched hallway reveals three bedrooms with spacious built-in wardrobes, each furnished with comfortable mattresses plus heaters and fans for a comfortable year-round experience. The first bedroom features a queen bed and decorative fireplace, while the second bedroom houses a king-sized bed. The third bedroom is slightly smaller but includes a queen bed. The bathroom is stocked with complimentary toiletries, and laundry facilities, comprising a washing machine and dryer, are provided.
A private car park is available in the courtyard for a compact car via the rear laneway, complemented by a parking permit for a larger vehicle or second car, allowing unrestricted on-street parking.
During your stay, you and your group will have the entire place to yourself. Please make yourself at home!
Located right near leafy Rathdowne Village, famous for its cafes, restaurants and bars, we recommend the Rathdowne Village Delicatessen for delicious lunches and Italian favourites. Right next door is the Curtain Square, a green space to walk, sit and have a picnic and if you have kids, there’s a great playground here also.
Stroll to Lygon Street and discover Little Italy – the place where Melbourne's famous cafe culture was born. The Italian restaurant district synonymous with Lygon Street occupies a few blocks giving you many options to dine in great restaurants, cafes and enjoy Italian gelato - we recommend Il Gambero for delicious pizza and gnocchi bolognese.
Catch a movie at Nova cinemas, with a wide and interesting selection of movies. Princess Park and the Melbourne Zoo, Melbourne Museum are near by and for sport enthusiasts, there is a tennis court and a golf course just a short stroll away.
The home is located within a 3 km radius from the Royal Children’s Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and the new Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Universities located in close proximity include, Melbourne University (2.4kms) and RMIT (3kms). For those that need to travel for work the CBD is located 4.5kms from the home and is easily accessible by bus or tram.
Due to local regulations, we can happily host you for up to 90 nights. Any bookings that exceed this duration will be cancelled by Vrbo.
