This quiet country road just outside of New Paltz is the perfect place to relax in seclusion. The lake is only accessible by a select few homes along the shoreline, with no sound but lapping waves and wind in the trees. Make sure to keep an eye out for soaring eagles overhead, who've made their home along the ridge.
During winter months, snow and ice can make navigating this driveway difficult. We strongly recommend booking only if your vehicle has AWD/4WD and winter tires for safe access.
While our plow service clears the driveway after snowfall, they also service multiple properties in the area, which may cause delays. Please plan accordingly.
Recently renovated, this modern home strikes the perfect balance of chic minimalism and natural beauty. This home was absolutely beautiful! The views of the mountain and lake, especially with all the fall foliage was breathtaking! The house was really large and spacious especially for a big group. Also, the listing says 4 bedrooms but it actually has 5 bedrooms which was a nice surprise! We really enjoyed all the bright natural light from the windows and the home felt really peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was also a great perk. I definitely want to come back again for another fall weekend!

Problems w. outdoor furniture, boats, & hazards (poison ivy) that we weren’t made aware of.Rowboat leaks and is not safe for children. Outdoor dining table & chairs not useable because in need of power washing & chair backs unstable.Poison Ivy along paths where people walk (yes, one adult got it; very unpleasant) No credit given us for these issues…but we did get denial.First day we weren’t given code for oar box so couldn’t go on lake. Management gave us 65 credit for that…

Hello Charles,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us, we take all feedback seriously and appreciate the opportunity to clarify these matters.
Regarding the boats, we want to reassure you again that there were no leaks. We shared photos with you via vrbo messaging that the boats were in proper working condition. The minimal water accumulation (1-2 inches) in the V-Hull is typical for this type of watercraft and poses no safety risk. Additionally, a full safety test was conducted after your stay and we are happy to report the boats are functioning as they should and remain ready for future guests' enjoyment.
Concerning the poison ivy, our caretakers and cleaners also inspected the property and found no evidence of poison ivy. We had requested photos of areas you spotted multiple times, but did not receive any, either during or after your stay. That said, we always recommend wearing shoes outdoors, as the natural terrain may have uneven ground or debris.
We appreciate your note about the outdoor furniture and agree that pressure washing would improve its appearance; we are in the process of attending to this for future guest enjoyment. However, our caretaker inspected the chairs and found no safety hazards. We did see your posted review includes photos of the chairs in use, which gives us confidence you were able to enjoy them during your stay.
As for the oar code, this was sent twice via text on your check-in day and shared again when we spoke over the phone. The credit issued was specifically for the grill inconvenience on your first night, as we understood this affected your dinner plans. After our handyman’s visit, it was determined that the grill was functioning properly but had not been used correctly. We are very appreciative of our handyman, who was able to take the time to show you how to use it the right way, and that no further grill issues came up during your visit.
While we value constructive feedback, we were disappointed by some of the language used in our exchanges, including the comment about us being "uncivilized" for not providing placemats, an amenity that has never been advertised. Professionalism is important to us, we always strive to communicate with respect and ask our guests for the same courtesy. We regret that your experience did not meet expectations and, after careful consideration, believe we may not be the best fit for your future travels. We kindly ask that you consider other accommodations moving forward, thank you.
