Estado Luna Azul: Tranquil, Elevated Pool Estate Breathtaking Ocean/Sunset Views

Thank you! Our team enjoys going above and beyond to optimize enjoyment of this unique location - all starting with a comprehensive info package to decrease arrival stress and minimize the time between plane touchdown and hammock slumber. Let us know if you'd like cooking services next trip!

Greg, thanks for the honest review! We try to create reasonable expectations on our site and info package, yet, we understand all is not equal with regard to preference. Your review helps folks see the place for what it truly is - just remote enough to be immersive yet comfortable. Rough roads bring good people. Air conditioning is isolating and diminishes the rich experience of Guanacaste’s sights, smells, feels and … sounds. Our guest book is filled with delight at sounds of howler monkeys, birds and frogs! We’re glad you were impressed with the house/view and otherwise comfortable. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.

Another perfect fit - travelers that appreciate immersion in local environs with comfort and convenience in a private retreat. Your entry in our 16 year old Guest Book was gracious and we do hope to host you again!

Thank you for your fantastic reviews of the house, view, pool, and caretaker! This was our first check-in glitch over15 years of VRBO guests and we appreciate your willingness to to relax in a local restaurant while we scurried to make the property pristine clean for your arrival. We've re-tooled our communications to prevent this from happening again. Your caution about groceries augments our extensive info packet shopping guide. The peace, quiet and 'immersive experience' of a less-touristed ranching community is best enjoyed with a bit of grocery pre-planning! Hoping to host you and yours again!

Thank you so much for the positive review! This is exactly how the property was designed to be enjoyed - with deep appreciation of elemental Costa Rica. The air, the breeze, the locals (human and animal!), the surrounding community, the beaches ... all with unique ridge top perspective and exposure. Luna Azul looks forward to your return.

Thank you for the four star and reasonable review despite experiencing the ‘abundant life’ of Guanacaste at peak insect season. We are very forthright about this issue and potential solutions in our info packet - and glad you followed recommendations to find peace in avoiding proximity to light during a tough time. This review is a good reminder to heed cautions to keep the house closed during early wet season daytime lest you discover what wasn’t a problem during the day becomes an issue at night with interior light sources attracting everything that wandered in during the day. We have recently purchased new ceramic non-stick pans that should have been in service for your visit … and we may have neglected to discard old pans. Cast iron, cast aluminum and stainless steel cookware remain in service and in top condition. This is the first indication we’ve had that our living room furniture could use an udpdate … we’ve been ‘family friendly’ for so long that, yes, we’ll look into an upgrade for the new season. Again, we appreciate the feedback that accompanies your positive review and hope to host you and yours again - perhaps in the opposite season so you can experience Guanacaste dry! Cheers!

Thank you for the critique of our property. Given the volume, tone and broad range of complaints listed, we must assume you didn’t bother to review the listing OR the 30+ page information pdf shared well ahead of check-in that outlines nearly every item in your critique. Especially the strong recommendation for 4WD and extensive info around comfort in the absence of air conditioning. We cannot apologize for the undeveloped nature of the area as most find it charming. We accommodated your last minute date change request via whatsapp in 4 hours and attempted to respond to your myriad complaints thru this channel … but, yes, we may have missed one … there were so many. We work hard to create reasonable expectations and our philosophy of “under promise - over deliver” has worked well over the last 16+ years. It seemed clear we were not going to be able to achieve a good review from the moment you left vrbo communication pathways for whatsapp and told us you ‘thought’ you saw the unit was air conditioned. You never asked for a cancellation or discount - indicating to us that you were interested in an adventure destination … similar to every guest since 2007 that had all reviewed and praised our extensive property info and left fantastic reviews. Unfortunately, that was not the case and we do hope you enjoyed other accommodations and areas of Costa Rica during your stay. This is a beautiful country with lovely people … ¡Pura Vida!

Thank you for this lovely review - it looks like you enjoyed the energy of Guanacaste as the house intended: surrounded and aloft. I have edited our comprehensive information package to highlight your thoughts with those of guests over the past 15 years. Very glad you enjoyed your stay!
