About this property
Cozy Island Cottage: BBQ, Outdoor Patio, WiFi
Cedar & Stone offers a warm and inviting escape surrounded by natural beauty. This charming two-bedroom retreat blends rustic charm with thoughtful modern touches. A stone wall anchors the living space, complete with a crackling wood-burning stove for cozy evenings. The rich wood finishes throughout the cottage evoke a sense of peaceful forest living, while contemporary comforts like a rainfall shower and a hidden TV (discretely concealed on an electric lift) bring luxury to your stay.
Step outside to a partially covered patio and fruit trees. Whether you're grilling on the BBQ, gathering around the fire pit under the stars, or sipping coffee in the morning quiet, the space invites you to slow down and reconnect. Cedar & Stone is more than a place to stay—it's an experience of West Coast island living at its finest.
The property is a short walk to Silva Bay and Pages Resort. Pages has a convenience/gift/liquor store.
During your stay, you have exclusive access to the main cottage which includes a living room, television, dining area, two bedrooms that are each connected by a 3-piece jack-and-jill bathroom. The big screen TV is in a hidden cabinet below the window overlooking the fruit trees. A remote control raises the TV on demand. High speed internet access is included. There is a wood burning stove with wood available. There is a BBQ with propane provided for use on the deck along with an outdoor dining area and fire pit for use (when permitted per Gabriola regulations). There is also a fridge, microwave, cooktop, air fryer, and dishwasher for your use. Your stay will also include include coffee, tea, and a welcome package which may include an assortment of goodies for your convenience and enjoyment (i.e. baked goods, snacks, beverages) along with a few other surprises.
Our cottage is designed for a maximum of 4 guests, making it ideal for couples, families with older children, or friends seeking a quiet getaway. For the comfort of our guests and to protect the well and septic, weddings, parties, and events are not permitted.
The property has not been child-proofed and is close to the road and unfenced and therefore, may not be suitable for young children.
Note that there are peanuts on the property and dogs have visited in the past, so it may not be suitable for those with allergies to peanuts or dogs.
During cooler months, the heat pump provides only limited heat. The wood stove will be needed to supplement heat to bring the cottage to any temperature higher than 20 degrees C. If you are not comfortable using a wood stove (wood is provided), our cottage may not be a good fit for you during cooler months.
Gabriola is a beautiful Gulf Island, and part of the island experience is that power outages happen a little more often than in the city. When this occurs, electricity, internet, and water (our well pump runs on power) may be temporarily unavailable.
We’ve got you covered with:
🚰 Emergency water for toilet flushing
🔦 Flashlights and backup lighting
💧 Drinking water always on hand
🍳 A power outage kit (coffee percolator, kettle, propane camping stove, and pans) — kept in the pantry by the entrance door
⚡ Generator backup available for extended outages (we’ll get you set up if needed)
Outages are usually resolved quickly by BC Hydro. We’ll always do our best to keep you comfortable until service is restored.
Although there is a fire pit available for guests, during the summer months on Gabriola, there is often a fire ban in effect. When there is a fire ban, fires in the fire pit are prohibited.
