About this property
Coastal Vista - Year-Round Beachfront Getaway on the Gulf of St. Lawrence
Allow yourself to slow down at our peaceful waterfront retreat on the Gulf of St. Lawrence — a place designed for comfort, calm, and meaningful time together by the water.
Set in a region rich in Indigenous heritage and Acadian traditions, the cottage offers a relaxed coastal escape where days unfold at a gentler pace. With the beach just steps from the yard and wide-open shoreline views shaped by the tides, it’s easy to unplug, reconnect, and enjoy simple pleasures — whether you’re gathering with family, meeting friends for a quiet reunion, or planning a romantic getaway.
We’ve thoughtfully designed the home based on our experience in hospitality and travel, focusing on ease, cleanliness, and practical comfort. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming rather than flashy, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.
The Space
Your backyard is the beach. The property sits on a full-sized waterfront lot with ever-changing shoreline views throughout the year. Shallow coastal waters (approximately 4 feet deep) are well suited to wading and relaxed exploration — water shoes are recommended. Tides shift daily, revealing shells, rocks, and driftwood and creating a constantly changing natural landscape.
The home includes three comfortable bedrooms plus a den with a queen pull-out sofa, offering flexibility and privacy for families and groups.
Multiple living areas and sunrooms provide space to read, play board games, share meals, or simply enjoy the view.
A small boat slide provides water access. The area is ideal for kayaking, fishing, and exploring at a relaxed pace using non-motorized watercraft only.
Water & Utilities
The cottage uses a private well and water softener, which is common in coastal New Brunswick to protect plumbing and appliances. The water is safe and chlorine-free. Guests may notice a slightly different feel in the shower due to naturally occurring minerals and the softening process. Filtered drinking water is provided at the kitchen sink.
Outdoor Living
Outdoor time is a key part of the experience — from shoreline walks and sunset views to relaxed evenings outdoors. A fire pit is available when conditions permit; guests are asked to check NB Fire Watch for current fire restrictions and to fully extinguish fires after use.
Routine outdoor maintenance, such as lawn care or mosquito treatments, may occasionally take place during guest stays. While we aim to schedule this between bookings, timing can vary due to weather and other factors. Any work is brief and limited to outdoor areas.
Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen is well equipped for shared meals and family cooking. Wine glasses and cookware are hand-wash only. Trivets and placemats are provided to help protect surfaces.
Heating & Comfort
The home is equipped with mini-split heat pumps for efficient heating and cooling. A pellet stove provides additional warmth and ambiance during cooler months. Clear instructions are provided for safe and comfortable use.
Pets
Pets may be considered with prior approval. We generally welcome non-shedding or lightly shedding dogs under 25 kg (55 lb). Each request is reviewed individually. Pets must be declared at booking, be up to date on flea and tick prevention, and may not be left unattended unless safely crated. For pet stays, some area rugs may be removed at the host’s discretion.
Safety & Expectations
Guests are asked to remain within clearly defined property boundaries and to respect neighbouring properties and privacy. Use of the shoreline and water access is at guests’ own risk, and life jackets should be worn where appropriate.
Our goal is simple: to offer an effortless, well-cared-for coastal retreat where guests can relax, reconnect, and enjoy time together.

About the host
Hosted by Irina Fyfe
Welcome! We’re a family with young children who value comfort, calm, and time by the water. With experience in hospitality and travel at home and abroad, we’ve thoughtfully shaped this space to feel easy, welcoming, and well cared for. Hosting allows us to share a place we truly love and help guests enjoy a relaxed, memorable stay by the beach.
Why they chose this property
The coastal villages of the Gulf of St. Lawrence captured our hearts with their quiet beauty, strong sense of community, and ever-changing shoreline. We love the slower pace, the connection to nature, and the mix of Indigenous heritage, Acadian culture and coastal traditions — and we’re happy to share our favourite local spots and hidden gems with guests.
What makes this property unique
What makes our property unique is its true waterfront setting — the beach is your backyard, with wide-open views shaped by the tides and seasons. The home offers a rare blend of privacy, space, and calm, along with thoughtful touches designed for comfort rather than crowds. It’s a place to slow down, spend meaningful time together, and experience the coast at a relaxed, natural pace.
