The host was good at communicating and let us do a late check out, which was very appreciated. The house is huge but there were a lot of things that didn't work properly and it seems to need repairs in a lot of places. We were in Texas during a cold snap and the heat in the house was very patchy, with many cold rooms. There was also a weird smell in some rooms, which seemed to be stale cigarette smoke. The pool area would have been wonderful in the warmer weather, though!

It’s worth noting that due to private circumstances i was able to book this property for about 500 a night. Which is a couple hundred cheaper than usual for October. At this price, the property was GREAT and was able to host me and my 12 friends for a wedding weekend at the Renaissance Faire.However, If i had to pay the regular rate. I would be very upset because there were many small things wrong with our stay.1. Perhaps the biggest problem was that the guest house AC was broken. Making it 79 degrees in the guest house and basically unusable as a sleeping space. To the owners credit, I texted them about this on the night we arrive and they had a technician out there the next morning. But still, kind of unfortunate.2. When we arrived we basically had to set up everything about the property ourselves. With no instructions. We had to figure out how turn on the pool and the hot tub, all we had was just big grey boxes with unintuitive switches and control panels that i had to figure out myself. There was a basket of color coded keys for the entire property with no labeling on them and i had to go through each door with every key to figure out how to get access to anywhere. These little things are all slightly annoying but at the price i paid, it was fine.Overall, good stay for my price. But if i paid what it was currently listed i would rate much lower.
