When we arrived the house was dirty, in a state of end of construction site. The house had undergone renovations in the previous weeks. As the owner resides in another state, it seems that a review of the inventory before occupancy would have been highly desirable. It was a shock and a great disappointment to start a vacation.
After discussion with VRBO and the owner, we have decided to accept the compensation offered by the latter and his remote management to put the property back in order. After a week and a half, through cleaning, repair and handyman services, the house, pool and yard are finally back to more normal condition for a vacation property.
In terms of improvements, the laundry room would need a little updating and the sofas in the living room are somewhat saggy.
The owner bought and delivered four beach chairs and two lounge chairs for the pool as he had promised us when booking. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking (mixing bowls would be an asset). The rooms are of good size, the beds are quite comfortable and the bathrooms are updated and nice.
The property is well located, quiet area a few minutes from Las Olas, several good restaurants, shops and grocery stores, as well as near major arteries and Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
