La Aurriación Paradisíaca: a cosy cottage with beautiful view, river and forest!

Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place with beautiful view of the river. Note that young children shall need parental supervision due to the stepped terrain of the site and multiple high decks and stairs to the beach. This is a cottage by the river, on a pine hill right behind a forest so you have the chance to enjoy the real wilderness not very far from the downtown of Ottawa and Gatineau. Expect the well water to smell of sulfur, the mosquito bites, encounter with animals such as deers, bears, turtles, turkeys.....

We brought three grandchildren to the cottage and had a wonderful time! The kids had endless fun on the sandy beach. The cottage was spacious with room for the children to play. The unobstructed view of the Ottawa River in the main room was a real highlight. We would look forward to returning!

The view is beyond words. Place has everything you need for a get away. You will want bug spray or coils if you're using the hot tub.

Why they chose this property

I bought the vacant lots behind the cottage with the intention of building my own residence for my retirement. The cottage is my DIY practice workshop. I love the friendliness of all the neighbours here, the tranquility of the neighbourhood and the wilderness and roughness of the rocks on the beach and at the back of the cottage, as well as the winding road leading to my cottage….

What makes this property unique

The cottage was heavily damaged by a storm and that was the reason the previous owner sold it to me when I happened to be there at the time. I turned it into what it is as a DIY rookie and will not stop improving both its interior and the surrounding landscape….
