About this property

Huge Balcony & Harbour Views Princes Wharf Shed 19

A beautifully presented one-bedroom apartment on iconic Princes Wharf Shed 19 — and that balcony. An oversized private terrace with marina and harbour views, large enough for a proper outdoor table, morning coffee, an alfresco dinner, or simply watching the harbour go about its day. High ceilings, floor-to-ceiling doors, a fully equipped kitchen, fast WiFi, and in-unit laundry. The Ferry Terminal, Viaduct, and Commercial Bay are all minutes on foot. A perfect 10 for location from guests.

Every now and then an apartment has one feature that defines it completely — and for this Shed 19 apartment on Princes Wharf, that feature is the balcony. Oversized, private, and positioned directly above the marina with harbour views stretching out beyond, it is the kind of outdoor space that makes you rearrange your entire day around it. Morning coffee becomes a longer ritual. An evening glass of wine becomes an occasion. Dinner out becomes dinner in, pulled together in the kitchen and carried outside to eat with the lights of the waterfront below and the harbour beyond.

The apartment itself matches its setting well. High ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass doors create an airy, upscale interior that flows naturally onto the balcony — the two spaces feel like one when the doors are open, with harbour breezes and natural light doing considerable design work throughout the day. The open-plan living and dining area is bright and comfortably furnished, with a modern kitchen fully equipped for self-catering: everything you need to cook properly, store a week`s groceries, and keep the balcony table supplied without a trip to the supermarket every night.

The bedroom is a comfortable, well-finished retreat with quality linen. The bathroom is modern and well-appointed. In-unit laundry facilities add practical self-sufficiency for longer stays or guests who prefer not to pack light. Fast WiFi and a dedicated workspace make this equally well-suited to remote workers who want to earn their balcony time properly before claiming it.
Guests who have stayed here consistently give this apartment a perfect 5.0 for location — a score that reflects something genuine rather than polite. The view highlight, location highlight, walkability highlight, and nearby dining highlight in the guest data all point to the same thing: this apartment delivers on its waterfront address in a way that guests notice and remember.

Princes Wharf has been part of Auckland`s story since 1929, when it was formally opened by Earl Jellicoe as a two-storey concrete wharf — at the time, an engineering first for the city. For decades it was Auckland`s window to the world: cargo ships from Britain, Asia, and South America, ocean liners bringing emigrants and returning servicemen, and during the Second World War, a working base for United States forces supporting the Pacific campaign. For generations of Aucklanders, this was the place you came to farewell someone leaving for the other side of the world — or to welcome them home.

In 1998, a major redevelopment designed by Leuschke Group Architects transformed the wharf while preserving its long concrete bones — six interconnected heritage shed buildings, including Shed 19, now house apartments, restaurants, and retail above what was once a working cargo dock. Today the wharf is one of the city`s most recognisable destinations, with the five-star Hilton Auckland anchoring the seaward end and free public viewing decks at the tip of the wharf offering some of the most serene harbour vantage points in the city, sightlines stretching to Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf.

The entire apartment is yours — bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, open-plan living and dining area, and the oversized private balcony with marina and harbour views. Access is via key safe — full instructions and codes will be sent the day before your arrival. To ensure a smooth arrival, we ask all guests to complete a short online pre-check-in form and upload a valid government-issued photo ID before arriving.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Keys are collected from a secure key safe — straightforward and available at any hour. Full instructions will be sent ahead of your arrival.

A private airport transfer can be arranged at additional cost with at least 48 hours notice.

While we will leave you in peace to enjoy your time in Auckland, we are available 24 hours a day for an emergency.

For those non-urgent like-to-haves, just give us a call or a quick message and we will do everything we can to make this your most memorable trip to Auckland yet.

Guests consistently highlight both the location and the nearby dining as standout features of this apartment — and the numbers back it up, with a perfect 5.0 location score across all reviews. Princes Wharf itself is a destination: Somm offers serious wine tasting alongside its menu, Wahlburgers brings its famous family-recipe burgers right to the water`s edge, and a string of waterfront restaurants serve everything from long, unhurried harbour-view lunches to special-occasion fine dining with fireplaces and sweeping outdoor terraces.

The Viaduct Harbour`s celebrated restaurant and bar strip is a five-minute walk, with Baduzzi, Hello Beasty, Giraffe, and an excellent selection of bars and wine rooms. Commercial Bay`s flagship retail and dining complex and Britomart`s cobblestoned laneway precinct are both within easy reach — the latter with its boutique stores, acclaimed restaurants, and specialty coffee making it one of the most enjoyable precincts in the country to simply walk around. The New Zealand Maritime Museum sits right at the base of the wharf. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is close by with daily services to Waiheke Island, Devonport, and the Hauraki Gulf — a morning ferry to Waiheke for wine, food, and beaches is one of the genuinely great Auckland day experiences.

Wynyard Quarter and North Wharf`s dining precinct are an easy waterfront stroll west. The CBD`s Queen Street shopping, the Sky Tower, and Aotea Centre are within comfortable walking distance. Everything about this location is walkable, and guests who stay here tend to do exactly that — spending their days exploring on foot and returning to the balcony to debrief over whatever they`ve brought back from the market or the bottle shop.

Auckland is easily explored from Princes Wharf. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is a short walk with regular services to Waiheke Island, Devonport, and the Hauraki Gulf. Britomart Transport Centre connects the full train network. Uber and taxis are plentiful throughout the waterfront precinct. There is no car park with this apartment — paid public parking is available nearby in the Viaduct and CBD, and the location is so walkable that most guests find a car unnecessary. Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car or shuttle.

Please note that views and access may occasionally be affected when cruise ships are docked at the wharf — this is managed by the Ports of Auckland and outside our control, but we will always let you know in advance if we`re aware of any disruption during your stay.

This is a non-smoking, no-vaping property throughout — including the balcony and all common areas. No parties or events. Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Checkout is by 10:00 AM.
We kindly ask all guests to help us maintain the peaceful, high-standard environment of this home by following a few simple rules:

A valid photo ID, email address, and phone number are required prior to check-in.

Please respect our no-party policy and observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Smoking, vaping, or drug use is not permitted inside the suite or anywhere in the apartment, building, complex or balcony.

In the rare case of a noise complaint or evidence of smoking, an additional fee of up to NZD $500 may apply.

Check in available after 3pm through lock box key collection. Lock boxes are located a short distance away, full details will be sent prior to arrival. We advise collecting the keys on your way to the apartment, if coming to the city via taxi or UBER, ask the taxi to wait a second while you collect the key. The walk to the apartment from the lock box is not far, but no one wants to walk in the city with suitcases!

These measures ensure that every guest enjoys a serene, premium experience — thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
