Welcome to Peel Cottage, your peaceful country getaway.
Whether you’re escaping for a romantic weekend, a quiet few days together, or simply some time to unwind, this cosy 1950s cottage offers comfort, privacy, and the kind of calm you can only find in the countryside.
Cute, private, and full of charm, Peel Cottage sits among mature oaks, native shrubs, and a stunning rhododendron collection. The large section provides plenty of space to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting, and you might even spot the resident kererū gliding through the trees.
Inside, you’ll find two spacious bedrooms, tastefully decorated to match the relaxed country feel. The main bedroom features a queen bed set in a warm mid-century theme, while the second bedroom has two singles that can be joined to form a king bed if needed. Both rooms have heaters, cosy bedding, and restful décor.
The kitchen is fully equipped with gas hobs, oven, full-sized fridge, dishwasher, toaster, and Nespresso machine. Guests are welcome to use our pantry staples, including tea, coffee, and condiments. A washing machine is discreetly tucked away for longer stays.
Enjoy your meals at the indoor dining table or take things outside to the spacious deck. There’s a large gas BBQ, outdoor furniture, and a sun umbrella for easy alfresco dining on warm days or mellow evenings.
The comfortable lounge is the perfect place to unwind in front of the woodburner. A small library and games cupboard offer simple pleasures after a day exploring the great outdoors. While there’s good mobile coverage, the cottage intentionally has no Wi-Fi - a welcome excuse to slow down and connect.
The compact bathroom is original but functional, with a great shower offering instant hot water and strong pressure. Towels, fresh soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided.
The cottage is well insulated, including underfloor, and the woodburner keeps things warm and toasty through the cooler months.

Cute little cottage. Well appointed, comfortable firm mattresses. Amazing garden. Lots of lovely extra touches ie phone chargers by the bed (universal c), herbs with the salt and pepper, laundry powder in the laundry. My husband adored the marmalade. Thank you for a pleasant weekend break.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Peel Cottage. It’s a charming and well-equipped place with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. We especially appreciated the peace and quiet, as well as the cozy bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The extensive garden is beautiful. We loved watching the fantails and listening to the lively chorus of native birds. We would happily stay here again.
