We had a nice stay overall and tried to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenic surroundings. The canoe experience was definitely a highlight—we really enjoyed paddling down the river and taking in the peaceful nature around us. That said, there were a few things that could be improved. The directions provided through Expedia were inaccurate, and Google Maps led us to the wrong place entirely, which made getting there quite frustrating. The photos online seem to be from when the house was newly built; in reality, much of the property felt quite old and worn down. Inside, there were barely any utensils—just a few plastic knives and plates—which made it hard to prepare or enjoy meals properly. We also found something that looked like a moth larvae on one of the beds when we arrived. While it didn’t bother me personally and I simply took it outside, I understand it might concern others (though it’s not entirely surprising given the house is in the middle of the woods). Additionally, the front door didn’t seal properly and was difficult to close, which was a bit of a pain—especially at night or anytime we were leaving the house. With a few updates and better communication, this could be a much more enjoyable experience for future guests.
