The host was excellent. We had vehicle issues while we were up there and he allowed us to stay a few hours past our check-out time to finish getting our vehicle up and running. The basement room is completely separate from the rest of the house. You have to go outside and down stairs to access it. The showers could have used some attention but all-in-all pretty clean.
Quick check in. Clean. Spacious. Timely communication with the host. Fantastic location! 10-15 minutes from the island. Would definitely recommend this cabin! The beds were so comfortable Also. It may have stated this in the description but the basement living space with the two bunk beds is only accessible by the outside. We just didn’t realize this. Not an issue. Just an fyi.
While this home is beautiful with its log cabin design and huge size, little things detracted from making this a five-star lodging. The paint on the steps and front porch are peeling and in need of maintenance; the TV lacked a sound bar making the sound in the large living room seem distant; the tissue paper holder was in a closet and no tissues were provided; the salt and pepper were on the highest shelf and unreachable without getting up on a chair; the outdoor furniture was old, some seating had been destroyed by squirrels; sections of the split rail fencing were fallen down. While we enjoyed our stay and its location near attractions, this property can only be rated four-star overall.
We are a family of six (four kids ages 11 to 22) and two dogs and this cabin was perfect for our family. Here are our top notes for this wonderful cabin:1. Very spacious: each bedroom/sleeping area has its own bathroom (the three bedrooms in the main part of the cabin each have a full bathroom/shower). This is so awesome for families with teenage kids, lol. The separate apartment downstairs was perfect for our two boys and gave them their own space to video game away when we were at the cabin.2. Great location: the cabin is located about 15 minutes from the main strip in Pigeon Forge and about 25ish minutes from eitherDollywood or Gatlinburg, so no worries on having to travel long distances.3. Private and quiet: the neighborhood is gorgeous and very quiet. The cabin is very private and the wrap around deck is partially covered/screened...perfect for rainy weather or evenings outside.4. Fenced in yard for the dogs: as anyone who travels with pets knows, finding a space that allows them some room to roam is very hard to find. Our two rough collies loved the fenced in yard and being able to run around a bit, without being on a leash.5. Owners were very responsive and super nice! They answered any questions we had almost immediately and we really appreciated it.6. Open concept in the cabin gave such a relaxing, spacious feel. We all loved the experience and look forward to our next visit. Overall, this cabin gets five stars from us...thank you! :)
