My spouse and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Auckland. The photos don't lie. This is a beautifully designed and constructed living space. The apartment is tasteful and welcoming, with very recent appliances and finishes. Two generous bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a lovely kitchen filled with natural light, a comfortable living/dining area and an efficient laundry nook with washer and dryer. There is an attractive, cozy private outdoor patio/entry area with seating. The apartment is on the ground floor of a beautiful, recently renovated house typical of the area. The master bedroom is below ground level, but the second bedroom, kitchen and living/dining area are above ground. The property is nestled in an attractive, quiet neighbourhood just two blocks from the north end of Ponsonby Road, one of the city's top shopping & dining destinations. Step off the property, look in the opposite direction from Ponsonby Road, and the first sight you see in the distance is the Harbour Bridge. An enjoyable 30 minute walk downhill gets you to the heart of the CBD, either via the redeveloped waterfront to the Ferry Building or via Victoria St. to the Sky Tower. The hosts were highly responsive and accommodating, for example delivering dishwasher detergent within a couple of hours of being alerted to the need. One point of information: A gate you must pass through to access the apartment is quite narrow: just wide enough for a large suitcase or duffel bag.
