Welcome to The Velvet Moose, a cozy and whimsical creekfront cabin just 3 miles from downtown Breckenridge. We are a fully licensed rental, Blue River License #: LR25-000059.

The Velvet Moose is a warm and inviting cabin located directly on Spruce Creek, offering a rare combination of natural privacy and convenient access to Breckenridge. The home has been thoughtfully updated while maintaining its classic mountain character, making it ideal for families, couples, long-weekenders, ski groups, dog owners, and anyone seeking an authentic Colorado getaway.

Inside the cabin, guests will find upgraded lighting throughout, new kitchen appliances (fridge, stove, microwave), refinished cabinetry, and redesigned dining and living areas. The living room includes a Roku smart TV and high-speed WiFi for streaming and remote work. The bathroom has been modernized with a new vanity, lighting, flooring, toilet, updated fixtures, and a new tub surround.

The cabin is in a great location, very accommodating staff and plenty of room. It could afford some upgrades and only one bathroom is not ideal, but we only did one night, so it worked for us!

We are longtime Breckenridge fans, having spent our honeymoon here over 30 years ago. Although we grew up in the Midwest, Colorado stole our hearts many years ago. Spending time in the mountains never gets old for us! We purchased this home and decided immediately that it had to be shared with friends and family... and The Velvet Moose was born. Why the Velvet Moose? The day we toured the property for the first time, we saw 9 moose on and around the property! Their quirky, graceful stature immediately captured the theme we wanted the house to evoke. Our hope is that you love it here as much as we do and that you return often with family and friends to create lasting memories.
