Ski in/Ski Out to Gondola,Hot Tubs,Pool, Ski Valet
One minute walk to Eagle Bahn Gondola!
Our cozy condo is located in the East building of the Lion Square Lodge, which is directly beside the Eagle Bahn Gondola at Lions Head. We feel that the resort is one of the best locations in Vail for ski in/ski out as well as great shopping and dining diversity. From our front door, it is a ONE minute walk to the gondola.
Two bedrooms are equipped with queen-size beds. Additional sleeping space is provided by full-size and twin futons in the living room. Our bathroom includes a toilet, sink and shower (there is no bathtub). Four adults or a small family can share this 662 square-foot condo comfortably.
There is NO view from our windows (we are at BASEMENT level with a view of a retaining wall); however, a quick walk up the stairs or an elevator ride to the floor above provides access to a balcony that overlooks Vail Mountain. You can enjoy coffee, tea or hot chocolate while watching the gondola go up and the skiers come down the mountain as well as keep an eye on the hot tubs and pool. Feel free to spread out to the leather couches in the lobby. A new restaurant and bar will be opening in late 2025 adjacent to the lobby. In addition to the two incredible outdoor hot tubs and outdoor heated pool surrounded by gorgeous mountain views, the resort offers an indoor sauna and changing rooms - all located one floor below our condo.
Further amenities provided by Lion Square Lodge include covered parking, DSL internet access, public restrooms and additional shower located in changing room, concierge, ski storage, bike racks and coin operated washing machines and dryers (in the hallway outside our unit). Visit the Lion Square Lodge website to learn more about the fabulous resort in which our condo is located.

Great Place!
Katherine & Dennis - Thanks so much for the opportunity to stay at your condo. We really enjoyed the place and the overall property at Lions Square with the pool and hot tub! We have recommended VRBO and your place to as many people as we can since our experience was so great.

Thanks for your review Pete and your references. My favorite thing to do at Lion Square Lodge is to sit in the hot tub, too! I also love being able to park my car in the garage and not have to use it the entire time I'm at the condo. Being able to take a short walk or shuttle ride to anywhere I want to go is such a stress reliever. Please consider us again for your future trips to Vail.
Lions Square is a beautiful location.
Located conveniently with shopping restaurants and entertainment near by, this property is an ideal location for enjoying Vail.
Communication with Katherine and Dennis is effortless and they provide great information for enjoying the area.
I thoroughly recommend this property.
Thank you for a great family vacation!
Location, location, location! Truly ski in ski out. The listing is accurate - it’s a cozy condo, but we spent most of our non-skiing time at the pool or wandering around the village so it was perfect for us.

Ski trip
Best possible location for ski in ski out! Condo is clean and cozy. Bathroom shower is flimsy & would be nicer if updated & better constructed. Very good value for the price.

Cozy apartment steps from the Lionshead Gondola
My husband and I had a wonderful stay here - the apartment is close to the Lions Head Gondola, which makes it extremely convenient for skiing, there is a affordable restaurant on the property, two hot tubs, pool and sauna for rest and relaxation after a hectic day of skiing (winter) or hiking (summer). The apartment was comfortable, immaculate and charming. Definitely would recommend to friends and family.
The description was spot on. It would hard to be closer to the slopes unless you slept in the Gondola. More than enough room with a nice sized alcove for storing your gear. I will rent this unit again.

Great location
Condo was perfect for two people. With only one very small bathroom, I would not recommend more than two adults in the unit. It would be okay for two adults and two children as there are two bedrooms. It was exactly what we look for as location is key for us and we don’t spend a lot of time in the condo. Best ski-in/ski-out in Vail!

What a location!
This unit was in pristine condition (looks brand new) and right next to the gondola. Throw in underground heated parking and you are good to go. The ski valet, pool, hot tubs and sauna are perfect for apre ski and el sabor has some good food. If you feel like venturing out to Vail Village it's a short free bus ride.
While the basement location limits the views, you make up for it while outdoors all day and it's a fraction of the price of places in the vicinity.

Vacation Condo
This cozy condo was perfect for our family of 4. We stayed here for a vacation/work trip in Lionshead. The location was perfect. A lot of restaurants and shops are nearby, and being able to walk or ride the bus to Vail village was nice as well. The owners were very helpful and flexible. The only awkward thing to deal with is that you are in the basement right next to the big laundry/break rooms etc for the Lodge. It was a little noisy during the kids' nap times, but other than that it was a nice, clean, quiet place to stay for a few days. Our family enjoyed our time here. Thank you!

Great Easter vacation in Vail!
We have stayed at Lion Square Lodge several times, but this is the first time we chose a place using VRBO. There were 6 of us traveling together, and this small basement apartment was cozy yet comfortable for all of us. The owners, Katherine and Dennis, were very responsive and flexible. That really meant a lot to us! We had absolutely no issues, and you just can't beat the location at Lion Square Lodge. You step outside and are at the Eagle Bahn Gondola. You are also walking distance from all the great shops and restaurants in Lionshead. If you are looking for a great location at a decent price, you should definitely consider this unit!!

Great resort. Below Average condo
The location of the apartment which was completely and truthfully described in the posting was worse than we thought. Had to go past laundry, housekeeping, and kitchen facilities to get to apartment. The apartment was underground, which again was accurately stated in posting. But no light and looking out to stone wall was depressing. We had barely warm water for showers so had to shower elsewhere. We also found a mouse in the bedroom on the last night.
Definitely the cheapest room in an unbelieve area and beautiful lodge. But we found out you get what you pay for.

We can certainly understand why someone would find a lack of hot water and a mouse in the unit to be inconvenient. When guests have had any complaints in the past (i.e., understanding how to use the TV, a clogged toilet - this is the first time we've had a complaint of hot water and a mouse), a quick phone call to Dennis or Katherine has resolved the issue quickly. That is why we provide our phone numbers repeatedly to our guests and ask that they call us with any concerns. Not only did this renter not contact us, she did not even attempt to notify the front desk.
Had Julie W. either called or texted one of us, we would have had someone there immediately to assist her. Instead, we were told after she checked out that she wanted a refund or that she would post a negative review. Unfortunately, all we could do in hindsight was to have maintenance check the hot water and ask them to provide better preventive pest control. As I mentioned in my response to Julie, we talked with the staff at Lion Square Lodge after receiving her concerning email after her stay and they maintain that there was no problem with the water temperature that weekend. They also said that in the Vail mountain environment, on occasion a mouse will come into the building in the Summer, but they would have been happy to have removed it for our guest.
Coming to us after the fact put us in an awkward situation since we had no opportunity to resolve Julie's issues during her stay. As one can see from previous reviews, we are very conscientious and accommodating to our renters, and we have many that return year after year. We apologize that Julie's stay was not what she expected, but we hope that when our guests encounter issues during a vacation that they notify us immediately. We want to make our guests' stays as comfortable as possible.

Affordable way to do a ski vacation based at Lionshead just 50 yards from gondola
we just got back from our great trip to Vail. This small basement apartment was perfect for my family: I'm a single Dad and brought 4 teenage kids. They sprawled out slumber party style on the futon (slept 2 boys 18 and 19), the fully reclining chair (went completely horizontal) for my 15 yr old girl, and put my 4th teenage child in his own bedroom since he was catching a bad cold. We cooked meals 4 nights in the small but fully equipped kitchen, and ate in the living area since there was seating for 2 at the kitchen/breakfast bar area. The housekeepers brought fresh towels and emptied our trash often. The funky location of the unit (same level of the hotel as the conference center, through the laundry room for the hotel and down the hall by guest laundry) made it hard to find at first, but then once we figured it out, we realized it was SUPER convenient because it was the same level as the parking garage, and only 1 floor down from the main lobby. We never had to wait for the elevator, and bringing in groceries and luggage was super convenient. The only time we ever rode the elevator was to go down 1 floor to the hot tubs. We discovered the FREE redbox DVD rental library on that floor as well. The TV was able to plug in an HD cable so we could play a DVD from our laptop computer in the living room. Nice touches were the robes for us to use. We had TONS of snow while we were staying there, so it was nice to have the garage parking and heated roadways so we could get in and out without shoveling anything. I thought this was an affordable and very fun way to stay close to the action in Vail. The only people who would be disappointed by this condo would be someone expecting to look out the windows and see the mountains, but those people would have read that this is a basement unit with no windows. Frankly after 6 days of skiing from 830 am till 4pm, all my kids wanted to do was fall asleep, so the view didn't matter AT ALL. I could barely rally them to visit the hot tubs! Staff was super friendly at the front desk. We didn't use it because we had a car, but learned that with a $50 minimum order, the City Market grocery store in Vail will deliver groceries free when you order them on the City Market Web site. If they made more of these apartments (I think there are 4 total) I would have bought one too. The condo was super clean.
