Join in a guided meditation and visit the temple and cafe at Dzogchen Beara ( 15 mins drive away).
Explore the local mining history and visit Allihies Copper Mine Museum.
Visit Dursey Island by Europes only cable car that crosses open seawater., or take a boat trip to explore the local islands.
Immerse yourself in the historic culture by visiting stone circles, fairy forts and wedge tombs, or simply relax and enjoy a Guinness and some traditional Irish music at one of the 3 village pubs.

If you prefer something off the beaten path with gorgeous views and think it is worth driving out of your way to see views you won’t see by staying in a tourist area, this place was worth it. I wish we had booked it for longer so we had time to explore the area. The host was great and very responsive to messages. I didn’t realize it was an apartment attached to the back of their house but honestly it didn’t bother us at all. She had everything we needed in the apartment plus some.

This place was fantastic! The house itself was fabulous, the fireplace was a really lovely and romantic touch (great for honeymoon), and the surrounding ruins are really amazing to walk through, definitely check out the mountain mine shaft trail as well. The whole area is just stunning.The location is great too, just a very short ways into Allihies proper, which is a really charming village with great fish and chips and a couple really nice pubs. If you have to chance to listen to a live music night there I highly, highly recommend it. The museum is also a must see, especially since much of the history there happened on the property you’re staying on. Our host was also excellent! She was very accommodating of our arriving quite late into the evening, and had great recommendations. We absolutely loved our time here!
