The space
The apartment is naturally bright throughout the entire day, even during Lima’s winter months. The front wall of the bedroom and cinema room are made up of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors with French-style balconies, allowing fresh air and natural light to fill the space. From the windows, you have a wide open view over the city, giving the home a sense of space and calm without feeling enclosed.

If you enjoy nature or birdwatching, the apartment offers a quiet vantage point to observe local wildlife. From the bedroom or living room, you may occasionally see the “San Nicolás” hawk (Gavilán Acanelado / Parabuteo unicinctus) gliding overhead or returning to its nearby nest. Early mornings and late afternoons are often the best times to spot it. The private neighborhood park behind the building also attracts hummingbirds, small songbirds, and even squirrels, making it a pleasant place to read, stretch your legs, or enjoy a quiet break outdoors.

Inside, everything has been set up for comfort, whether you are staying for a short visit or several weeks. The furnishings and appliances are new, and the space is arranged so daily living is simple and intuitive. There is an in-unit LG washer-dryer for your convenience, and building staff can be hired for cleaning or housekeeping if preferred.

This apartment is located in Colmenares, one of the most secure and convenient residential areas of Pueblo Libre. The district is known for being calm, walkable, and culturally rich, with a strong local community and a slower pace than the coastal tourist zones. It borders Magdalena del Mar, Jesús María and San Isidro, and is widely regarded as one of the safest areas of Lima for both residents and visitors.

Pueblo Libre maintains a coordinated safety network that includes municipal patrols (Serenazgo), the National Police, and 24/7 monitored cameras across main streets and parks. The district also provides a rapid-response emergency assistance app for residents. Daily errands are easy to do on foot—most essential services are only minutes away, and the area is comfortable to walk both day and night.

Within just a block and a half of the apartment, there is both a municipal hospital with multiple specialists and a Serenazgo base with a police station. The neighborhood is compact enough that many guests choose to explore it entirely on foot; you can walk from one end of Pueblo Libre to the other in about 20 minutes.

The apartment faces the Cruz del Viejo (The Traveler’s Cross), a historic landmark once used as a navigation marker in colonial Lima. A short five-minute walk leads to the cultural center of the district, including Plaza Bolívar, the Quinta de los Libertadores, the home of Manuela Sáenz, the Santa María Magdalena church, Antigua Taberna Queirolo, El Bolivariano, Santiago Queirolo, Casa Hacienda de Orbea, the Boulevard del Criollismo, and the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History. Pueblo Libre is also centrally located among several of Lima’s leading universities. The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) is nearby and contributes a thoughtful, academic atmosphere to the area. The National University of San Marcos (UNMSM)—the oldest university in the Americas—is also close, adding historical depth and a steady presence of students and researchers. This creates a calm but youthful energy, with cafés, study spaces, bookstores, and green areas used throughout the day.

ICPNA and Británico operate nearby branches, while PUCP offers Spanish courses for foreigners through its language center. Private tutors are also easy to arrange, making the area ideal for longer stays where learning and daily life can blend naturally.
