Read our reviews to see why we consistently get 5 star ratings. When you arrive at River Watch Lodge you’ll immediately be drawn to the huge back porch to see what locals call the very best view in Georgia of the scenic Toccoa River. You can watch it round the bend and move past our private dock at the bottom of our 2 acres of mountainside covered with oaks that turn a breathtaking golden color in the fall. Watch and later join the fishermen, kayakers and tubers float down the river which is known as the best fly-fishing body of water in the Southeast. Once you enter the cabin you will feel the warmth and comfort of a showcase spacious living area facing the river with a 30’ high vaulted ceiling and an amazing floor to ceiling fieldstone fireplace. Ready to kick back and relax? Sink down on our leather sofa in front of the 65” TV and light the gas log fireplace.

You may want to meander down to our spacious terrace level entertainment center with 12’ high ceiling to enjoy the regulation size pool table, 2 goal arcade basketball game with electronic scoring, regulation ping pong table, multifunction game table for poker, board games or bumper pool, the 58” TV viewed from our leather sofa with two end recliners and the custom-made bar with slanted tin roof and party lights.

Want to relax in the fresh mountain air? River Watch Lodge has three levels of porches all with amazing views of the Toccoa River. Try our swinging day bed or rocking chairs. Dine on the custom-made table that seats 10. Enjoy our large hot tub with seating for 6. Test your skills on our professional grade 4 hole synthetic putting green and enjoy the firepit with plenty of seating.

So that you stay connected we have 50 mg high speed internet along with 6 TVs with a sports package which includes SEC, ACC, Big 10 and PAC 12 sporting events. For babies and toddlers we have a high chair, booster seat, stair gates and a porta crib.
Electric Vehicle? Yes. We have a Pulsar Plus Level 2 Electric Vehicle 40 Amp Charger with 25' cord for our guests! You will not find many cabins in Blue Ridge that have Level 2 EV charging stations.

Experience downtown Blue Ridge with all the restaurants and specialty shops and enjoy a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Don't forget the white-water rafting, horseback riding, fly fishing (our property extends to the middle of the river), kayaking, zip line and hiking trails running through the Chattahoochee National Forest to Long Creek and Fall Branch waterfalls. Don't miss Mercier Orchard which includes a combination of U-PICK events, Bakery & Market Cafe, Market Store, and Farm Winery. They not only grow apples but also strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, plums and nectarines! Local wineries and breweries are great fun as well.

Many of our guests have told us they had been looking for a cabin with easy road access, ample parking, close to town and a spectacular river view. This is exactly what they found at River Watch Lodge.

Great retreat
We got groceries on Sunday and never left. We are a busy family but just vegged out on March Madness (Go UConn!) and enjoyed the views and family time. Plenty of space for our 3 kids and wife & I. Loved playing pool and ping pong and reading on the decks.

Great cabin
Very nice. No complaints. Would recommend to anyone. River is far down there but that’s made clear so keep that in mind if you’re trying to be “on” the river. Didn’t bother us but it is a hike down and up.

Couples trip/ Birthday celebration
The cabin was everything that they said it would be. We didn’t have to leave. They had everything we could’ve needed to make the trip memorable. The instructions, communication and the views were all worth what was paid and more. We would recommend this property to anyone. Everything was as stated.

Awesome family mini vacation !!!!
Our family was looking for somewhere to spend a few days together in the mountains, and this property was PERFECT! We had everything we needed to stay entertained. Games, tvs, scenery - and we loved spending time on the porch! So many places to gather! And all 8 of us were able to sit together at the table for meals. Plenty of space for all of us! And our host was very helpful! He called soon after we arrived and offered many helpful suggestions. We highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away and “stay at the house.” We love Blue Ridge, and we will definitely be going back!

Host profile image
We're Gordon and Karen Barber and we have enjoyed welcoming guests into our vacation home in Hilton Head SC (vrbo 13208) since 2003. We added our mountain home in 2020. We know your vacation time is precious, so we do all we can to make your stays with us enjoyable and memorable. We're very hands-on owners and pride ourselves in adding the little extra touches. We're proud of the fact that many of our guests come back year after year.

We try to make our homes appealing to all ages, providing equipment for babies, toys for children and convenient and relaxing amenities for adults.

Why they chose this property

We got interested in Blue Ridge Georgia when we spent a weekend there and we were enchanted by the small town charm and beautiful scenery. And we loved that it was such a short drive from our home in Atlanta. We purchased this property because of the unique and amazing view of the Toccoa River. Plus it had 3,000 square feet, a rec area, 4 bedrooms and the bunk area - perfect for enjoying time with our grown children, spouses and grandchildren.

What makes this property unique

Our home has a fabulous view and setting. Our view is unique - two views of the Toccoa River - one a bend upriver and one right below our home plus views of the neighboring ridge across the river. And it's all natural beauty, with only one or two other homes peaking through the foliage on the other side of the river. We're surrounded by oak forest carpeted with native ferns at the end of the road in a private gated community. Our property extends from our home to the middle of the river. There are 177 steps down to the river - the equivalent of going down 14 stories.
