Pine Grove Cottage - Visit Monticello, Charlottesville & Many Local Wineries

The Pine Grove Cottage is surrounded by woods in its rural location, but is just 3 miles from the Zion Crossroads Interstate 64 exit and all the retail and restaurants at that interchange. It is 22 minutes from Monticello, and there are over a dozen wineries within a 30 minute drive.

The cottage was thoroughly renovated and luxuriously furnished in mid-2020. If it looks professionally decorated, that's because it is. Everything is brand-spanking new, and beautiful.

The cottage can accommodate seven people if you include the sleeper sofa in the living room. The mattresses in the bedrooms are all Temperpaedic type mattresses, very comfortable.

You will love the patio with its gas grill and fire pit. Also, there is a 1/2 mile trail beside Oliver Creek - great for walking the dog or the kids.

Just what I was looking for

I stayed at this VRBO because of the proximity to my son who I was visiting. It was easy to get to, clean, quiet, comfortable, and I felt safe. It suited my needs perfectly. And it was close to multiple restaurant options in Zion Crossing. I would stay here again on future trips.

Cute house with nice big yard

We had a wonderful time in this tucked away little home. It was quiet and scenic and I couldn't have asked for a better location. The home was tidy, accessible, and the location felt very secure. It really added to our special day coming home to the space to unwind. Would definitely recommend.

Better than a hotel!

We loved our two week stay! The bed was comfy and the entire house had a cozy feel to it. The kitchen was well stocked. Our grandsons spent one night with us and they loved the bunk beds. We loved the location because it was only a couple of miles from our son’s house.

Charlottesville stay

My husband and I stayed for a couple of nights and this time. The mattresses are terrible. They feel like just a piece of foam, that you sink into. We could not sleep in the master bedroom. We actually slept on the bunkbeds.

It was fine for our trip. The grass could have been cut before our arrival and the dishwasher should have been repaired prior too.

Great deal for the price. Great stop for my family enroute to the beach. I don’t know why some people are downing this house on reviews. If you want a $600/night stay it’s out there. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Pine Grove Cottage Stay

We really enjoyed our stay! Location was easy to find and we found the place very clean and orderly. All new appliances, furniture, dishes, flooring, etc.. There was also a new deck, patio and fire pit which we used to make s’mores. There was also a brand new gas grill. Each room had very comfortable beds and pillows!! No central air, but each room had a window A/C unit. Cable only had a few channels and no internet as it was not installed yet. There were a few insects we found each day, but wasn’t a real problem. Owners were very responsive to our requests. We spent most of time out visiting the area to that included wineries and a cider place. Fifteenth minutes from Charlottesville. We would definitely come back again.

No communication

Arrived, clothes in washer, disgusting dirty silverware with chunks of food on them. Had to wash all silverware. Dishwasher had dishes in it. Pots were greasy, unusable. No shampoo and coffee as advertised. So I didn’t pack them. Wrote to owner with no response. Maybe if he did I wouldn’t of wrote such a review. I was just trying to let him know.

Well-maintained property, rural, and quiet neighborhood with lots of lawn for our dog to run and a trail to walk. House had everything we needed for a nice stay and was close to a venue we were visiting in the area. Owner was very responsive when texted. Nice patio and BBQ area a plus.
