Pine Grove Cottage - Visit Monticello, Charlottesville & Many Local Wineries

The Pine Grove Cottage is surrounded by woods in its rural location, but is just 3 miles from the Zion Crossroads Interstate 64 exit and all the retail and restaurants at that interchange. It is 22 minutes from Monticello, and there are over a dozen wineries within a 30 minute drive.

The cottage was thoroughly renovated and luxuriously furnished in mid-2020. If it looks professionally decorated, that's because it is. Everything is brand-spanking new, and beautiful.

The cottage can accommodate seven people if you include the sleeper sofa in the living room. The mattresses in the bedrooms are all Temperpaedic type mattresses, very comfortable.

You will love the patio with its gas grill and fire pit. Also, there is a 1/2 mile trail beside Oliver Creek - great for walking the dog or the kids.

It was a very peaceful place to stay. Though our visit was short, we really enjoyed the peace & quiet. I arrived a little early before check-in & messaged the host to see if I could enter a little early before check-in, and he was gracious. My visit was to see my friend who owns, Sacred Acres Alpaca Farm. A fun place to tour.

Cute house, felt welcoming upon walking in. Kitchen had everything needed for basic cooking, if you want a crock pot, etc, bring yours along. Bathroom is roomy, plenty of towels, etc.. beds were super comfy. House sits on a dead end street, 3/4 mile walk total, perfect for walking our dog.... Short path in woods as well, but apply bug spray. Visited several wineries, all within a 30 min drive. Walmart, abc store, fast food, etc just 4 miles away in Zion crossroads. Enjoyed firepit, used gas grill, enjoyed sitting outside on patio. Bring a fire stick or Roku for watching TV, if you choose to do so. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, and would come again if we have the opportunity. Host replied to all inquires promptly..... Thank you for having us.

This was the perfect place to stay for a winery trip to Charlottesville! It’s close to so many wineries and had everything we needed. The home is spacious and a great fit for our family of 7. It’s definitely off the beaten path and tucked into the woods, which made it feel peaceful and private.

We acquired this property as a traditional rental property in 2007. We converted it to a vacation rental in 2020 due to its ideal location within easy reach of Charlottesville.
