About this property

Hagley Park Base | Parking + EV plug-in - Bookahome

Two-bedroom townhouse in Riccarton, sleeping up to six. Christchurch Hospital is three minutes by car. Two minutes on foot to Hagley Park, five minutes to Riccarton Rd, twenty to the CBD. Quiet cul-de-sac, private courtyard, parking right outside your door. EV charger on site. Stays of up to 90 days welcome. For longer, just ask.

✦The house

Two storeys, sensibly laid out. Upstairs is where you sleep. Downstairs is where you live.

The open-plan living and kitchen runs the full width of the ground floor and opens straight out to the private courtyard through the sliding door. It's where most guests end up at the end of the day — something cold, the courtyard chairs, the day's debrief. The heat pump sorts the temperature before you arrive. Fans in both bedrooms keep summer honest.

The murphy bed lives downstairs in the living area. Fold it down when you need it, fold it away when you don't — the room works either way. It's a proper queen, not a camping cot.

Upstairs: two bedrooms, both quiet, both well set up. The super king in the main bedroom can split to two long singles if that works better for your group — just let us know before you arrive and it'll be sorted. The second bedroom has a queen and a full-length mirror. The bathroom is upstairs — shower, toilet, and bidet, shared between everyone. One bathroom between six is worth knowing before you book. It works — guests manage it just fine — but it's not something we'll hide in the small print.

This is a well-loved home. Guests consistently use the word spotless. We intend to keep it that way.

✦The kitchen

Everything you need to cook a proper meal — oven, hob, dishwasher, full-size fridge. Nespresso machine on the bench. Tea, coffee, and milk when you arrive — enough to get through the first evening without a supermarket run. Riccarton Rd is five minutes on foot if you need anything else.

✦Outdoor space

Private courtyard with an expandable table and chairs — seats four, opens to six when you need it. Sheltered, quiet, nobody else's anything. It catches enough afternoon sun to make it worth sitting in. Where the day ends — cold drink, good conversation, nobody rushing you anywhere.

✦Location

Christchurch Hospital

Three minutes by car, easy to find, easy to get back to. If you're in town visiting someone, undergoing treatment, or here for a medical appointment — this is the location that makes it work. No stress about navigation, no hunting for parking miles away. Park outside, walk in.

Quiet street means you can actually rest between visits. The washer and dryer mean you can unpack properly during a longer stay. Fast Wi-Fi if you need to stay connected to work or family. The space is set up for people who need a base that works — quiet, close, no fuss.

Stays of up to 90 days welcome. If you're here for an extended treatment or recovery period, ask about weekly or monthly pricing.

Everything else

Two minutes on foot to Hagley Park — the Botanic Gardens, the duck pond, the running tracks. Walk through it to the CBD in twenty minutes. Riverside Market about the same. One of Christchurch's best walks — flat, green, doesn't feel like a commute.

Five minutes gets you to Riccarton Rd. Cafes, restaurants, Westfield, the supermarket, takeaways — everything you need without going far.

The airport is 12 minutes by car.

The cul-de-sac means no through traffic. Quiet by design, not by accident. Guests consistently remark on how settled they feel here given where it sits.

✦What guests love

The parking. Right outside the front door — no circling, no boot-camp luggage haul.

Two minutes to Hagley Park. Walk through it to the city in twenty. Christchurch's best commute.

Quiet cul-de-sac that somehow sits in the middle of everything. Guests can't quite believe it.

Beds that work for everyone — super king splits to two singles, murphy bed disappears when you don't need it. Bring whoever you like.

Fast Wi-Fi, Netflix, water pressure that actually works. The holy trinity.

Spotless every time. Not "pretty clean for an Airbnb." Actually clean.

Close to Christchurch Hospital — handy to know, hopefully you won't need it.

✦Guest access

The whole townhouse is yours — both floors, the courtyard, the parking space directly outside the front door, and the EV charger.

Self check-in via smart lock. The code comes through the day before your arrival — no waiting around, no key handover, arrive when it suits you. Full instructions are in the welcome pack inside.

The courtyard is private to this property. The parking space outside the front door is yours for the duration of your stay.

✦Things to note

One bathroom, upstairs — shower, toilet, and bidet. Shared between all guests. Works well for most groups, worth factoring in if you're booking for five or six.

The murphy bed is a queen and it's comfortable. It folds down in the living area — the room is set up to work with it in place, but the space reads differently with it down. If you're travelling as a couple or a family of four using the upstairs bedrooms only, you may not need it at all.

The super king in the main bedroom splits to two long singles. Let us know your preferred configuration before arrival and it'll be set up ready for you.

Quiet hours after 10pm. The cul-de-sac is residential and the neighbours are good — let's keep it that way.

This is an end-of-terrace townhouse in a small complex. There are neighbouring properties. It is quiet, but it is not a standalone house on a section.

No smoking inside or on the property.

Security camera at the front entrance — exterior only, for guest security.

✦BookaHome

✦Who this works well for

Visitors to Christchurch Hospital — patients undergoing treatment, families staying during recovery, people visiting loved ones. Quiet, close, easy parking, fast Wi-Fi, washer and dryer. The kind of base that lets you actually rest.

Couples and small families wanting a quiet Riccarton base with Hagley Park on the doorstep — two minutes away and it never gets old.

Groups of up to six needing flexible sleeping — the bed configuration sorts itself around your group, not the other way around.

Remote workers and relocating professionals — fast fibre, quiet street, washer and dryer so you can actually unpack.

EV drivers — charger on site, no hunting for a public station.

Anyone who wants to feel like a local for a few days — Riccarton Rd, Hagley Park, the walk into town. You'll know your way around by day two.

Stays of up to 90 days welcome. For longer, just ask.
