About the host
Hosted by Nela
We are a family of four originally from Chile and Mexico, now proudly calling Canada home for the past 21 years. Along with our two children and three dogs, we love living a life connected to nature, the outdoors, and creating warm spaces for people to enjoy.
As a family, we spend as much time outdoors as possible. We love camping, hiking, exploring natural spaces, and enjoying every season Canada has to offer. Our children have grown up sharing that same love for nature, adventure, and simple family moments outside.
We both work in home renovation and enjoy transforming spaces into places that feel comfortable, peaceful, and welcoming. I also love gardening and cooking, especially creating cozy meals for family and friends.
Hosting our cottage is something truly special to us because we believe everyone deserves a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and create beautiful memories with the people they love.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Trenton the moment we discovered this area and our cottage. What drew us here was the perfect balance between peaceful nature and convenient access to everything a family could need — schools, main highways, nearby towns, and endless outdoor activities.
One of the things we love most about living here is how central the location is. We are close to Prince Edward County, Picton, beautiful wineries, Sandbanks Provincial Park, Kingston, and even great day trips to Thousand Islands, Ottawa, and Montreal. It gives us the chance to enjoy small-town living while still being connected to some of Ontario’s most beautiful destinations.
As a family who loves the outdoors, this area truly feels like home. There are countless places nearby for hiking, camping, fishing, boating, and exploring nature throughout every season. Spending time outside, fishing, discovering trails, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings became a big part of why we chose to build our life here.
We hope our guests can experience that same feeling of relaxation, adventure, and connection to nature while staying at our cottage.
What makes this property unique
What makes our cottage truly unique is the peace, privacy, and connection to nature that surrounds it. From the moment you arrive, the space feels calm, bright, and welcoming, with large open areas filled with natural light throughout the day.
One of our favorite things is starting the morning with a quiet walk through the forest trails nearby, listening to nature and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. A beautiful creek flows through the wooded area beside the property, creating a relaxing and almost magical setting in every season.
The property is spacious, very private, and incredibly quiet — the perfect place to disconnect from busy everyday life. In the evenings, we love gathering around the fire pit, enjoying the fresh air, and watching the stars shine brightly in the night sky.
The gardens are also very special to us, especially the vegetable garden that we care for throughout the warmer months. Every part of this cottage reflects the lifestyle we love most: tranquility, comfort, outdoor living, and a deep connection with nature.
For us, the most special part of this place is the feeling it gives — peaceful, grounding, and surrounded by natural beauty.
