This listing was everything and more from what was advertised. Location , view, amenities and the home was beautiful and had a homie feel with lots of charm. We were a group of 7 ladies and this spot checked all the boxes . Hands down a gem of a rental and the five star rating is well deserved .Highly recommended!!!
We booked this property for the family to stay at as it was close to nearby wedding venue. Great location, lovely property. Wish we had more time to enjoy the amenities.
We liked it so much last year we returned this summer and we weren’t disappointed. The host Shamila has made several improvements which made our stay this year even better! It was a great family gathering. 😀
Shamila the host is lovely and very accommodating as is her co-host. The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed all there was to offer - the paddles boards, pedal boat, bicycles and especially the fire pit. We had a great time and would highly recommend this property!

Dear Linda thank you for the nice review .. please consider ‘Heaven on Earth’ as your second home. If you live nearby come visit.. the door is always open for you and it doesn’t have to be that you have to make a booking .. with loads of love!
This cottage provides a wonderful family experience. It is comfortable and well outfitted. There are several different watercraft and a dock as well as a hot tub. Overall, lots of opportunity for family fun in a beautiful and private setting. At the same time, it is close to amenities. We would definitely recommend this place.
Shamila's place was an amazing stay for my group of friends! Very clean and organized place which had everything you needed and more. Shamila obviously spent a lot of time preparing and making sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable as there were many great activities left for us to do together or individually (e.g. painting, board games and cards, hula hoops and games for children, relaxing on the many hammocks available). The highlight of our trip was having the option of many water sporting equipment (e.g. multiple paddle boards and paddle boat, canoes, kayak, etc) as there was enough for all of us to be on the water at the same time. Great fishing spot overall as we caught some small bass! Beautiful view of the outdoors, and the internet works great for those working days.
There was air conditioning in the master bedroom and top floor room/area, and a few fans for us to use, but during this heat wave it was very hot as there was no central air conditioning in the living room area. If you don't mind the warmth in the living room, especially with a bigger group, then all is well. The water is quite rocky and mosquitos are pretty aggressive but only during a certain time (just after sunset), so if you want to spend time out with the fire avoid going during this time and you'll be great. Shamila also did give us some tips before coming and mentioned the rockiness in the water and mosquitos so do listen to the tips she gives and bring some water shoes and bug repellent. There was a hot tub but unfortunately we could not get it to work/warm up (this could have just been us as users). Finally, the BBQ grill did work but took a little longer for our food to cook which was not a huge issue as it's summer and we had all day, but plan to start firing up the grill a little earlier.
Overall, Shamila's hospitality and service is top notch and did everything she could to make it feel like it was home for us the few days we were there. We did encounter a small blip while there being the first guests to stay, which is why 4.5 but these were communicated and handled fairly quickly and will not be an issue for future guests. I would 100% stay at this location again as it has been the most well prepared and thought through place we've stayed both inside and out. Shamila is very kind, understanding, and quick to respond which makes her an exceptional host!

Hi Alyssa, I don't know if my earlier message got through but really really really appreciate your review esp areas to improve on. Talking to electrician today and the water people to ensure that those things don't affect future guests. After your visit, fixing the garbage lid did cost me a bit. I have now made provisions so it doesn't happen again. I'd love to have you visit again. Normally properties like this rent for about $1000/day but given I am new, I have listed it so cheaply to get the issues out of the way. Thank you for the visit and your comments.
The experience was amazing, friendly welcome and beautiful property. Plenty of space and things to do for everyone in our group. Would recommend to a friend anyday!
Great Cottage Getaway on the Trent Severn Waterway
The cottage and property were beautiful, and we found it easy to settle in once we arrived. We'd definitely come back again as a group. The Trent Severn Waterway, on which the cottage is located, was fun to swim in, and the host offers paddle boards, a paddle boat, a canoe, and a large water mat, all of which we enjoyed very much so! The hostess added many special touches to make us feel welcomed. Parents with young children should know that there are many lovely antiques around the cottage, some of them glass, but there is a large pantry where they can easily be stored, and a large cabinet where they can be stored above, as well. We made so many great memories as a family that will be in our hearts and minds for many years! Ever grateful!
