Luxury Geodesic Dome with Glow Worm Stream near Pohara Beach, Takaka, New Zealand

A private and peaceful luxury escape in a geodesic dome hidden in native bush overlooking a glow worm stream close to Pohara Beach. A glass bay window allows you to immerse yourself in greenery with the sounds of nature all around. Bird song through the day is replaced by the sounds of the stream at night. A great sunny spot with a sea view where you can escape, relax and be close to nature while still enjoying luxury comforts.

This new 3 layered luxury dome tent has wooden floors, glass windows & door and electricity.



You get to enjoy the benefits of camping and being close to the outdoors with a comfortable queen bed, armchairs, lighting, fan, fridge, jug, plates, cups and utensils.



It's kind of like a forest bathing treat in a stream and bush setting where you can switch off and zone out. Time seems to slow here and your mind can free itself from the noise of modern living.



This is a park and walk in set up. The walk is 2 minutes in native bush with a wee stream crossing so wear appropriate footwear and leave your trolley bags behind.



There is a lovely hot bush shower, composting toilet and a kitchenette suitable for breakfast lunch and light dinners.



Charcoal BBQ available, just bring your own coals.

The outside deck area has a table and chairs set up overlooking Pohara Valley and out towards Golden Bay so you can enjoy breakfast while taking in the sea views.



For dinners, why not take a break from cooking and either treat yourselves by visiting the local restaurants, cafes, bars/takeaways or by simply making salmon/chicken salads and wraps.

We recommend walking down to Pohara and having f&cs at the band rotunda on the beach to watch the sunset. On your walk back up you will see hundreds of glow worms on the 2 min track into the dome.
