About this property

Stewie's Nest - Port Arthur Shack with fire pit

Welcome to your relaxed Tasman Peninsula escape, tucked away just moments from beautiful Stewarts Bay and only minutes from the Port Arthur Historic Site. Sleeping up to five guests across two bedrooms, this thoughtfully curated shack is designed for couples, small families, or friends looking for a comfortable base to explore one of Tasmania’s most spectacular regions.

The home features a queen bedroom and a second bedroom with a bunk configuration including a double bed below and a single bed above. Inside, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and carefully put together to make your stay easy and comfortable. Reverse-cycle heating keeps the shack cosy throughout the year, while a separate laundry with washer and dryer adds convenience for longer stays.

The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed to prepare meals at home, from breakfast before a day of exploring to a relaxed dinner in the evening. Please note there is no dishwasher, and there is no formal indoor dining room. Three stools are provided at the kitchen counter, so larger groups may prefer to enjoy meals outside.

The outdoor spaces are where the property truly comes alive. A wrap-around balcony captures the surrounding bushland and provides a lovely spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. An undercover dining area with BBQ makes alfresco meals easy, and the fire pit is perfect for gathering beneath the stars after a day on the peninsula. There is also an outdoor shower, ideal for rinsing off after a swim at nearby Stewarts Bay. Off-street parking is available for up to three cars.

Stewarts Bay is only a short stroll away, with a walking track opposite the property leading through the bush to the beach. The bay is ideal for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk along the shoreline.

Port Arthur is one of Tasmania’s most important historic destinations, offering a powerful glimpse into the island’s convict past. Beyond the historic site, the Tasman Peninsula is filled with natural attractions including the Stewarts Bay Walk, Remarkable Cave, Tasman Arch, Devil’s Kitchen, the Blowhole, and the dramatic Three Capes coastline. Wildlife is abundant, with wallabies, seabirds, and occasionally dolphins spotted throughout the area.

For dining, you’re close to several local favourites including On the Bay Restaurant at Stewarts Bay Lodge, Cubed Espresso Bar for coffee and casual meals, Port Arthur Lavender, and a selection of cafés and eateries in nearby Port Arthur township.

Please note that stairs are required to access the front door, and guests should hold the handrails at all times.

With its peaceful setting, welcoming interiors, and exceptional location near Stewarts Bay and Port Arthur’s major attractions, this is an easy and memorable base for discovering the Tasman Peninsula.

Please note that when booking and paying by card, a small fee will appear on your statement as a “ReslyPay” charge. This fee is set by the booking platform and is not controlled by us. Thank you for your understanding.
