About this property

One One Three - Great Lake

Escape to a cosy lakeside fishing shack on the edge of Great Lake, where still waters, crisp alpine air and wide open skies set the pace. Perfect for trout fishing, hiking and wildlife spotting, this warm and welcoming retreat features a wood heater, heat pump, fire pit and lakefront access. With a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi and comfortable bedrooms, it’s an ideal base for unplugging, exploring and slowing right down in Tasmania’s stunning Central Highlands.

This charming lakeside cabin is all about comfort, simplicity and its unbeatable position on the shores of Great Lake. Inside, the home offers a warm and practical layout with two comfortable bedrooms, each fitted with a double bed, making it ideal for couples, friends or a small family. The bathroom is thoughtfully set up with a shower over bath, while the toilet is separate, allowing for added convenience during longer stays.

The living area is cosy and inviting, centred around a wood heater that’s perfect for chilly highland evenings, with plenty of firewood supplied and stored under the shed or carport. A heat pump provides additional heating and cooling, and a ceiling fan helps circulate air during warmer months. Large windows frame the lake outlook and bring the outdoors in, creating a relaxed, cabin-style atmosphere.

The fully equipped kitchen is simple, practical and well set up for comfortable stays, featuring an oven, cooktop, sandwich press and all the essentials needed to prepare easy meals during your time at the lake. There is also a coffee machine available, including an espresso pod machine—guests are welcome to bring their own pods to suit their taste.

Outside, the fire pit area is a standout feature — ideal for evening drinks, storytelling and stargazing. With direct access to the lakefront, this is a classic Great Lake shack experience: simple, soulful and incredibly special.

Guests have full access to the property. There are no shared spaces or areas that are off-limits during your stay.

Your privacy is paramount, but our dedicated management team is always just a message away for any questions or recommendations. We want your stay to be as seamless and enjoyable as possible, and our team is here to assist with anything you may need.

A car is essential in Miena and the Central Highlands. The property offers easy access with parking available on site. Roads are sealed but conditions can change in winter, so care should be taken during colder months. Supplies are limited locally, so it’s best to stock up before arrival.

This is a true highland lakeside cabin experience. Weather can change quickly, so we recommend guests pack appropriate clothing. Firewood is supplied for the wood heater and outdoor fire pit. Please ensure fires are used responsibly and fully extinguished before checking out.
