We enjoyed our stay and the view was breathtaking! The house was very well appointed with all the amenities you need. Snorkeling right off the deck was the best feature! We would definitely stay again.

Pretty much heaven

Overall our experience was amazing at this property. We had an issue with the outdoor shower on out last night, but it was more of an age of the wood thing. The concept was amazing, and I used it several time. The coral reef off the secluded beach area by far had the most wildlife we saw on the entire island during our stay. We learned that the fish love dog treats. Overall 10/10, would stay again in a heartbeat

Birthday extravaganza

Stayed at Casa JoMama for 5 nights to celebrate a few birthdays, and wow! We loved the house and property so much! Had a little trouble with the lock, but Nikki was super responsive and helpful! The lower deck area is absolutely breathtaking and so beautiful! We visited in January and the water was a little choppy, but still just absolutely gorgeous! The pictures of the house don’t do it justice, we really enjoyed the time we had at Casa JoMama!

Nothing but positive things to say about this gem of a place: house was beautiful, location was fantastic, view was gorgeous, snorkeling was superb, Coby was extremely attentive & helpful. The outdoor bathroom was a unique experience & the resident iguanas quite entertaining. We had a marvelous family celebration of our mom’s 81st birthday & made memories for a lifetime!

Little Piece of Paradise

Casa Jo Mama is definitely a little piece of paradise, truly a hidden gem. So many beautiful places provided to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful views. TOP NOTCH HOSPITALITY!! Host was very informative, provided great tips for the area, quick to respond. Hospitality didn’t stop when our trip ended. My son left behind a few items and Cobia was so kind and helpful with agreeing to ship items at no charge. Highly recommend Casa Jo Mama. You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful views for this eclectic house

This was one of the most unique houses we have stayed in. Very well stocked with anything you need, beds were comfortable, showers were great. Outside space was was the best, by the pool in the sun, on the back deck with the sun shade out or in, under the palapa right off the deck surrounded by all the island plants for shade and cool breeze and our FAVORITE place down the hill to the deck overhanging the water with its own palapa, benches & lounge chairs where you can lounge in the sun or shade and listen to the ocean. We will certainly be back!

The view!

The outside space is amazing! The pool, the pool area, the deck, the view, the dock...all unbelievable. Honestly you are not going to find a more beautiful view on the island. Cobia, the house manager is so very attentive. It was the perfect space for us and just what I was looking for. The pictures do not do it justice.

Fantastic, Unique

We have been on maybe a dozen Caribbean trips and this property had the best view of all of them. We got married on the back patio with Megan’s Bay in the background. The manager was helpful and even came over and helped us move patio furniture out of they way for the wedding. You can find video on YouTube of the walk down to the water. There is a large deck just feet above the bay over the water. We did not swim there as the water was a little rough, but Magen’s Bay is very close for beach activities. The house was well equipped with all the VRBO necessities. As the description in the listing says, it is extremely private, unlike most VRBO’s. We will return one day!

House definitely looks better than the pictures on inside. Cleaning people didn’t clean the whole house they were late to let us check in. The pool pump broke he said he would be there in 45 minutes 4.5 days later he never came. I’ve maker on fridge doesn’t work. So u have to pump the ac if you want to get cool because I can’t get in pool and you can’t have ice in your drink. I think if they had a better property management person it would be better

One of a kind honeymoon experience at Casa Jo Mama

My husband and I stayed at Casa Jo Mama for our honeymoon and where absolutely taken with the place. We were a bit nervous at first about possible storm damage to the property, but were pleasantly surprised with the amazing renovations and condition of the home. The owner had recently installed a pool and brand-new deck right on the water, which made the property feel luxe and inviting. Our experience was indescribable, as the property is located right off of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and the water is pristine. The property is perfect for getting away from it all and feels like a private oasis. The sunsets from the beautifully renovated deck space were some of the most beautiful I have ever witnessed. Despite the secluded location of the property, amazing restaurants and the towns of Red Hook and Charlotte Amalie were only a short drive away. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms were well kept and up to date and the air-conditioning was superb, which meant a lot to me in such a beautifully balmy climate. We would absolutely return to Casa Jo Mama and would recommend this property to anyone who is looking to experience a slice of untouched paradise.

Casa

Casa Jo Mama quickly became our home away from home during a recent stay with a group of friends. The home is located on the Peterborg Penninsula which is a beautiful and safe area on the island. It is secluded enough that our evenings and mornings on the large back deck overlooking Magen's bay were private and peaceful, yet we were just a short drive from the delicious dinners and beautiful beaches. The house has a private dock where I fell in love with snorkeling (home comes with snorkle gear); a wide variety of coral and fish are visible right from the dock. The Peterborg point is a short walk and a great place to watch the sunset and Magen's bay beach is a short easy drive around the corner with a long stretch of white sands and blue waters with a great little beach bar and grill and gift shop. The house was fully equipped with toiletries, towels, basic food items, linens, beach chairs and toys and more. The home has a great set up which allowed private bedrooms and large gathering rooms that were perfect for our group to come together in. Our host was amazing! He was helpful with dinning and activity options and was helpful with any questions we Had about the home.

Awesome home!

The place has incredible views from the decks. We spent most of our evenings out on the deck and around the pool. The owners provided most everything we needed so you don't have to bring it with you or buy it there. That included things like shampoo, body wash, towels, etc. The kitchen has all the cooking utensils, spices, sugar, flour, etc. We spent some time down by the water as well. It is a bit of a hike, especially on the way back up. But there was plenty of snorkel gear for the six of us that went. Beware though, that you are walking on big rocks from the ladder to get down to the water, and it is rough when the wind is blowing. Like many areas in St Thomas, the roads are very narrow. They took a bit to get used to. We also learned that you must use Google Maps rather than Apple Maps (Apple could not determine our location). And don't forget to save your location once you get there to make it easier to find it again, especially at night! We had a great time and wish we didn't have to come back!

Amazing Home

My wife and I had been planning this trip to St. Thomas for over a year with extensive research into where we wanted to stay. After searching long and hard, we came across Casa Jo Mama. This house was absolutely amazing! The view is unbelievable and the uniqueness of this property is unmatched. There are so many things that make this house the only choice when staying in St. Thomas. Whether it be the outdoor bathroom, the dock right on Magen's Bay, the deck with the best view on the island, the fantastic snorkeling right off the dock, the generator (which comes in handy with frequent island blackouts), spacious floor plan, etc. (too many others to name). We had a group of seven and it was accommodating with room to spare. The homeowner (who lives close by) was also incredibly helpful throughout the whole stay as well. They met us at the airport (which was very helpful. Driving on the island is quite intimidating at first) and stocked the fridge with breakfast food for the next day. They really went above and beyond to make us feel at home and make sure we had the best time. Everything was greatly appreciated. If you want true paradise, do yourself a favor and book this house. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Excellent!

We had a magnificent time at Casa Jo Mama and found the home to be in good order, well equipped, clean, and with a tropical flare that enhanced the island atmosphere! The air conditioned bedrooms were very large, comfortable, and inviting. The view of Magen's Bay is fantastic and the soft ocean breeze makes it wonderfully comfortable on warmer days - the awning over both decks also helped keep us cool in the hot afternoon sun. We enjoyed having our morning coffee with the many large iguanas sunning themselves on the rocks just off of the deck. Also, the many lizards and hermit crabs scurrying along the walk to the water were fun to watch. And the walk to the water - what a magnificent path of flat rocks, cut through the trees - we were so happy that it fit with the natural landscape. Each walk to the water felt like a new adventure! We also enjoyed many walks to the end of the Peterborg peninsula where we watched the Atlantic crashing into the rocky shoreline. Many in our group also went snorkeling right off of the lower deck where there were many beautiful fish. However, you need to be in good shape to climb down the rocks and fight the surf to get into the water - but it was well worth the effort. We spent many hours on the lower deck watching the waves crash against the rocks and watching blue crabs scurrying along the rocks. I would also recommend a walk along the rocks to see what the ocean has tossed upon the shoreline. This is truly one of the most beautiful places on Earth!

Great place, beautiful views

I will start with saying I gave 4 stars and I will explain all my loves and what I wish was different. First, the house is beautiful, the location is great if you rented a car. The amenities were perfect and we truly did not have much to complain about from the house itself aside from 1 thing. Stairs! I was not prepared for the amount of stairs and I have a special needs daughter. None of the stairs are truly photographed and I don’t recall any description of how the house was laid out so the stairs were a shock to me. The pathway to the water was not safe for her so she was not able to enjoy that feature. We also had an ER trip our first night as she fell down the two steps in the living room and hit her face on the glass table. 3 stitches later, we got back to the house and found out we were locked out as the keypad did not work. When we arrived originally, the cleaning crew was still there (check in time 3pm, we arrived at almost 4 and they were still there). We did not get a key until a few days later so we had to leave the house unlocked and toss my son over the back porch to access the sliding glass door. This is not a disabled person friendly house and in the defense of the host, it’s not labeled as such but the photos of the stairs and full pathway to the water would have been nice to have anticipated prior to booking. The outdoor shower was a fun feature! The house is huge! We felt we had everything we needed to prepare any meal and there is plenty of dishes. The pool is small but a great amenity! Beware of the iguanas! They would approach the pool and did not seem to mind we were in it! I probably would even give 4.5 stars as we truly didn’t have much to complain about but 4 or 5 seemed to be the only option so I wanted others to know this is a house with a lot of stairs but it seems there’s stairs every where you go on the island. Makes me sad for other handicap families as we struggled with our daughter to allow her to enjoy everything the rest of us were doing. If we were to come back, I would book here again.

Perfect space and location!

From the booking process (including an early request by us for a shift by a day due to better flight pricing), to the arrival where Nikki came to the house and showed us around, to the gorgeous, incredibly amazing views, we absolutely loved our stay at Casa Jo Mama. The location is perfect and the layout of the house is perfect for a joint family trip--plenty of separate spaces both inside and out, but large gathering spots as well. We snorkeled off the deck area and saw tarpon, a nurse shark and many types of fish. I took my coffee down to the deck every single morning, and we enjoyed the pool on at least two different evenings. We appreciated the beach chairs and towels, as well as the board games. Had a blast!

Such a cool spot! Owners were very communicative and everyone had plenty of space between the 5 of us. The view is amazing from pretty much any spot and it was just what we were looking for. If you are looking for the pampered, luxury resort, this won’t be for you but if you appreciate the island feel and an epic view, it’s a great choice! We will definitely be back with friends and will likely spend more time at Casa Jo Mama than anywhere else. The snorkeling was good too!

Beautiful but not what I expected

Positive Aspects: This VRBO is located in a quiet gated neighborhood and has breathtaking views. The bedrooms and kitchen area provided the perfect accommodation for our family of five.Areas for Improvement: one morning, my son was startled awake by water dripping onto his bed due to a leak during rainfall. The deck stairs to the ocean trail had been reinforce by wedging a 2x4 under, but ended up falling a foot as my child and i went down them. There are no pictures of the path to the ocean side deck for a reason. The path is rugged and made from various rocks. The ocean deck looks cool in the pictures, but once down on the deck the path to get to the water included a calculated procedure to move between large rocks that is not child friendly.Hot water for the building is provided by a solar heat system. You must monitor usage at night to ensure hot water in the morning. The constant surveillance from the Ring doorbell and camera felt intrusive. The pool was not very well taken care of. The water was very cloudy and the chlorinator was empty when we arrived. Being a pool owner, I could tell that the chemicals were off, and after a few days I ended up adding a tablet to the chlorinator and the water defiantly cleared up over my remaining days.Overall, while the home offered stunning views and adequate living spaces, the issues with water leakage, safety hazards, ocean access, and maintenance shortcomings detracted from our experience. Not sure it was worth the cost.
