The views from the house were amazing and the farmhouse was absolutely gorgeous! The host did a great job at communicating all of the info to me in a timely manor and had great tips on things to do etc.
From the start to the end our stay was amazing. We absolutely loved the magical setting with the turning leaves and nights around the fire pit. Playing cards around the kitchen table and having two king beds each with their own bathrooms! What a fantastic stay and we will return to explore more of this beautiful area.

Thank you so much for this amazing review! Appreciate you!!
The hosts are incredibly kind and the entire resort is gorgeous and well maintained. The house is beautiful with a comfortable bed and it had easy access to the trails for SxS riding. We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary and we will definitely be returning to make more memories.
Beautiful and well maintained. Had all amenities. Nice and soft beds. Everything was wonderful until we showered. Water had a very strong sulfur smell and showers would not drain very good. After riding all day we wanted showers really bad but couldn’t stand the smell. I still rate it a 4 star because everything else was perfect

Long weekend
We throughly enjoyed our stay. The beds were great. Firm yet soft, just right. The house was tastefully decorated. We used the washer and dryer daily. Also nice to not have to hand wash dishes. We saw a bear running up the road in front of the cabin! Awesome! My only want was for more water pressure in the shower. But that's only if I'm trying to find something to complain about. Would stay again for sure. Beautiful property! Paved road all the way to the door. AC worked great. Very handy on a hot night after a full day. Loved this place.

Thanks for your kind words Trent :) So glad you got a look at our resident bear :) We recently discovered that one of our lawn watering staff people was accidentally leaving a water hose wide open and running. Whoops :) Thinking that was your water pressure issue in the shower. Keep an eye out on our website, we are continuing to develop and will soon be constructing an even more luxurious cottages that will hopefully entice you and yours for a return visit. Thanks again for the kind review :) Michael & Jessica

Relaxing getaway
We stayed for four nights for our honeymoon and loved it. It was cozy and serene. The house was a beautiful and had everything we needed, including kitchen items. The beds were cozy and the fireplace was just right. We took advantage of the mountains around and hiked in the national forest one of the days. The other days we ventured into Mena for a quick bite. The Farmhouse was quiet and perfect.
The only request to change was that there was someone taking care of leaves and the lawn at 8am the first morning we were there. We were already up and eating breakfast, but it was a little early for the loud noise (especially when we were trying to get away).
Overall, we highly recommend coming to Mena to stay at The Farmhouse and will definitely be coming back in the future. It was worth the 4 hour drive from Dallas!

Oh my gosh I am so sorry about the leaves being cleaned up at 8am! That is not our normal procedure. We appreciate your patience with that situation. That won’t happen again :)
Thank you for choosing to stay with us!

"Stress...what is stress...I've been to the Farm House at Bethesda Lake and Resort"!
Alyssa---quiet sanctuary...peaceful
Mesa--adorable perfect farm cottage. Love the kitchen
Sandy--loved the two king size beds and the stacked stone fireplace.
Arya....(age 8) don't tell anybody. Let's keep it a secret!
I organized this stay at Stonehill cottages for 3 generations of our families ladies. The farmhouse exceeded our expectations. It is surrounded by low mountains and its in the nest. The grounds are meticulously maintained and have old age growth along with new plantings. All the roads in the
development are black top. No dust, no noise. Great for walks or biking. Hope to return in the fall.
My family of four (2 girls 10 & 17) stayed and went riding our side x side for a few days. We absolutely loved the cabin and the views from the cabin. The sights in the area are absolutely gorgeous. We were very pleased. The beds were extremely comfortable (we LOVED the sheets) it was very cold while we were there so we loved the fireplace also. We cooked both nights and had everything we needed (I brought my crock pot). The cabin was clean & the owners were VERY quick to respond with a question I had. We will back.

We had our yearly friends trip in Mena, Arkansas at the Bethesda Lake cabins and resort. We stayed in The Farmhouse and was awed by the beautiful scenery and the Ouachita Mountains. The house was so cozy, super clean, and decorated so cute. The king-sized beds were divine!! We have never slept better. We spent many hours just rocking in the wrap around porch. We took advantage of the private pond and even caught a nice bass. We will definitely be bringing our families with us next time.
We had a great stay at the farmhouse the area is beautiful. There was an issue with the tub drainage but they had someone come to the house within the day and cleaned it up. Will stay again
Fabulous cottage surrounded by God’s amazing handiwork. No detail missed. Beds super comfy, house decorated so cute, and to quote my hubby “best air conditioning system” we’ve had at a Vbro. Very quiet area. The perfect stay while dropping my son off at UARM. We will be booking again when we come watch our boy play baseball.
Beautiful property, house and lake. We really enjoyed the house. It was clean and well maintained. Make sure to do some star gazing, never saw so many satellites before.
From the time we arrived at the property, until the moment we left, we were impressed and found ample ways to enjoy this beautiful home and the nature that surrounds it! The Farmhouse was super easy to get to, it was surrounded by the beautiful Ouachita Mountains, and several other super cute cottages such as this one. We were able to ride our Ranger and 4wheelers to the West Trailhead of Wolf Pen Gap, it was about a 15 minute drive but the scenery made it well worth it! Not having to drive our vehicle after arriving the first day was awesome. We spent 3 days riding those trails at Wolf Pen and each day took a different route on the trails. The home offers access to a lake about a minute or two up the road, with kayaks, paddle boats, and our son even tried out the new paddle boards the owners had recently bought. We took advantage of every bit of it. There is also a serene little waterfall near the lake that is well worth visiting and also a natural spring that was interesting to see. We enjoyed our evenings by the fire pit at the Farmhouse, made s’mores, and watched the sunset over the mountains. Can’t beat it. Do yourself a favor and check out the website for these cottages. It’s www.stonehillcottages.com and here you can find all the details on this area and what it has to offer. Also pricing on the website was a little less than we paid on VRBO. Just FYI. If serenity is anywhere in your future, this place is truly it. The place is super clean, the beds were comfy, and our main goal in Mena was to be able to ride trails and that’s exactly what we did, straight from the property. We never needed anything from the owners but they live nearby so I’m sure if you did, they would be available for help. We would love to visit Stonehill Cottages again in the future, hoping to stay in the Lakeside Cottage next time :)

About the host
Hosted by Michael & Jessica Myers
The Farmhouse Cottage is part of Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins which was created and owned by Michael & Jessica Myers. Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins is located on and around Bethesda Lake. Bethesda Lake was constructed in 1925 and was set to be the centerpiece to a resort back in those days, complete with a golf course that was in the original plan. The plan for this resort fell by the wayside and the Great Depression led to the complete collapse of the plan to create the resort back in those days. Moving forward a few years, the Watkins family became the owners of the property and built some smaller cabins and also hosted seasonal swimming for an annual fee. The resort at that time was known as Lake Bethesda Resort. Lake Bethesda Resort closed in the late 60s at the will of the Watkins family at that time. During the following 50 years, minimal maintenance was performed on the property and it became completely ran down. The cabins were bulldozed and the beauty of the lake and surrounding property became covered in unsightly brush. Roll forward to 2019, Michael & Jessica Myers (owners of Bethesda Springs Properties), purchased Bethesda Lake and the surrounding land with a passionate vision to restore the property to it's original glory, and maybe take it to a level that is even better. Michael & Jessica, with the help of local craftsmen, began bringing their vision to life with the construction of cabins on or near the lake. Today, Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins is comprised of 300 acres and 10 cabins and there are other cabins in the construction plans that will be constructed on surrounding mountaintops. These mountain cabins will have views that rival the Smokey Mountains - stay tuned! The Farmhouse Cottage was newly constructed and received it's first guest in 2014. We welcome you to book this cabin, experience it and feel the love that was poured into the construction of it. The pictures can't do it justice - you just have to see it!
