Great if you don’t mind target practice

Beautiful cabin and land. Billed as a place of relaxation and serenity. My husband, I and our 2 boys, 5 and 7, usually camp out this weekend but decided to try a cabin experience. No one told us that the neighbor directly across the dirt road may engage in target practice (rifle) all afternoon on Sunday. It was so close and loud we kept our kids indoors and didn’t feel safe walking anywhere near the road let alone down it. I grew up in a rural depressed town where everyone hunted and had guns so I completely expect to hear shots here and there in the far backdrop.. just not 50 feet away, all day when we’re spending a large sum for a relaxing (and safe!) stay in the woods. I would not recommend this place to anyone for that reason unfortunately, let alone a family with small kids.

Alice, as I said previously, we apologize that you felt unsafe. My daughter comes to the cabin for days at a time and we’ve never heard or experienced what you explained. I would never want to put any other child in danger. I host families consistently with kids of ALL ages and there has never been any issues. Our cabin is on 7 acres and we take pride in the exclusivity and safe setting. Also, I always make sure I let my guests know they should NEVER hesitate to contact me with questions throughout their stay or with any concerns. As we discussed previously, this situation could have been solved if I was made aware at the time of the situation. We are friendly with our neighbors and it would have only taken a phone call and he would have been more than happy to stop. We appreciate your honest feedback!
