Welcome to Point Of View! Enjoy BIG VIEWS from high atop Appalachian Ski Mountain, just minutes from all the amenities the High Country has to offer including shopping and dining in downtown Blowing Rock and Boone! Completely remodeled and updated, this 5BR/5.5BA furnished mountain home is sure to impress. The main level boasts a Great Room with hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings with exposed log beams, a stone fireplace, and a wall of windows to enjoy the views. Adjoining the Great Room is a high-end kitchen complete with stainless appliances, granite countertops, and a large bar. The dining room is surrounded by walls of windows to allow for maximum view enjoyment while dining. An expansive open back deck spans the back of the home and provides tons of space to relax and take in the amazing views. The Master Suite is conveniently located on the main level, while the upper level features two bedrooms, an updated full bath, and a reading nook/loft. The lower level has a second Master Suite, a fifth bedroom, a family room with a stone fireplace, and two additional bathrooms. Walk-out to the lower deck from the family room, and enjoy a covered deck for all-weather enjoyment complete with a firepit and big views! During the months of November through April, a four-wheel-drive vehicle is needed.

Spectacular

This is by far the best home we have rented in the 20 years we have gathered with family for summer vacation. Plenty of privacy and getaways if needed, glorious view, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. The favorite spot was the fire pit area downstairs. Lauren is quick to respond and very gracious. Thank you for a perfect vacation!

Family vacation

Mountain vacation

Beautiful Mountain Getaway

Wonderful, peaceful mountain home!

Very beautiful, spacious, comfortable home. The longe range views from both decks are absolutely fantastic - we were even treated to a couple of rainbows! Location is great for trips into both Blowing Rock and Boone. We also enjoyed daily walks around the lovely neighborhood!

I must say that this property is located in the possible location you could ever find. Close to EVERYTHING, from markets, restaurants, huge chain grocery stores, to other well known touristic places, like Grandfather mountain, Sugar mountain, Banner Elk, Beech mountain.... The property itself was well maintained, in perfect conditions.

This house was everything we hoped it would be! Beautiful views, great space, roomy kitchen, plenty of room for our family of 10, and we could have fit more. We spent a lot of time on the back porch! Awesome House, Great Stay!

This is our 4th year staying here for our annual winter getaway. The house is very comfortable with plenty of space for everyone to find an activity; board games, video game console (downstairs, so great!), reading by the fireplace, tv or cooking. Close to skiing and easy to get to town. Depending on the weather, 4 wheel drive is highly encouraged. Owners are always available with good communication.

Fantastic place

What a lovely house and great location. We could not believe how perfect this place was. All the amenities available as if it was your own house. The outside balconies were perfect for taking in the view. Honestly made me want to look into getting a place in the neighborhood. Thank you!

Winter Getaway

Great location and views! Minutes from town and the ski slopes. House is spotless, great setup for the family with the 2 master suites and additional tv and game room. We had an amazing time and will be back! Lauren was great with communication before and during the trip with anything needed and provided alternate routes to get up the mountain - this will be needed if going in winter.

Beautiful home with incredible views!

We loved our stay over the Christmas holidays! The house is gorgeous and so welcoming and comfortable. My 9-year-old daughter learned to ski and never wanted to leave the slopes, but we did manage to get to the pretty downtown area a couple of times to do some shopping and grab a bite to eat. Most nights we stayed in, though, and lit the fire, cooked dinner in the fully appointed kitchen, and put together puzzles or played games while marveling at the view. Thank you to the Hughes family for allowing our family to make wonderful memories in your lovely home!

Perfect from our “Point of View”

We spent five amazing days at Point of View for Christmas! It was picture perfect. The view is spectacular and there’s plenty of outdoor areas to enjoy the views. The house was all decorated for Christmas! So many special little details were left for us to enjoy. The kitchen was well stocked, there are two refrigerators, two washers/dryers, great beds, a game room, and huge living area for TV, games, puzzles and opening gifts. Thank you for offering this amazing property in one of our favorite little towns. We will cherish the memories we made this week!

A weekend to remember

As rare as it is for 12 high school girlfriends to keep in touch enough to plan a weekend reunion, so is this place. One of the biggest requests was not to do hotel rooms, as it would affect the amount of time we all could have together but also not feel as we were on top of each other. The house was spacious enough for all of us to rest but yet cozy enough for all of us to sit in the living room and catch up. The view on the deck was spectacular (I even live here, and thought this view was amazing) and also large enough for all of us to relax at the same. The location of the house was perfect for those who wanted to go Blowing Rock as well as Boone. The owners were great to work with during the process of reserving the place and available during our stay in case we had any questions. This house is not only special because of the occasion in which it was rented but also because of how the owner's spared no amenities. I really could not have asked for a better place to host 12 girlfriends whom some of us haven't seen in 16 years!
