Pool Table, Ping Pong, Pet Friendly, Fantastic Location
We love coming up with our family and friends and think you will too. The floor plan is great for multiple families or groups with 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 2 living spaces. The upstairs has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One is a ensuite. The downstairs is the same but one of the bedrooms is a bunk room with 4 beds. If you need an extra beds, you'll find a pull out couch in the downstairs and there is a trundle bed if you need a place for another child. You'll find a hot tub on the deck next to the screened-in porch and a pool table and ping pong table downstairs. We have seating inside for 16 as well as dining for 8 more on the deck and porch.
In the winter months, we would strongly recommend 4-wheel drive vehicles for the secondary roads and for our driveway, which is steep. We have snow shovels there and suggest bringing snow melt if the forecast calls for snow or sleet. You will need to use those tools should there be weather!
We welcome up to 2 dogs and there is a pet fee.
I am always happy to answer questions. It is sometimes difficult to navigate all your choices! I rent on VRBO for my family vacations too so I understand the need to make sure you it is right for your group.

We had a wonderful time celebrating graduation and mother's day with extended family. When there were wifi issues, through no fault of the homeowner, they were quick to respond and get it fixed. We had plenty of space and the pool table provided lots of fun
Perfect for a large family. Lots of seating, tables, and the screened-in porch was a big plus! Close to several charming towns. It was a great vacation!
Location was great. Close to Boone, Blowing Rock and Ski Areas. The property worked out great. With 15 people there was room to spread out and not feel cramped. We had space to be together to play games and have family meals together.

Loved the house!
We loved staying in this beautiful, large home! The home was close to everything and we had enough room for everyone. The owner was willing to answer all our questions before our stay.
This house is wonderfully located between Boone and Blowing Rock. It had plenty of dishes and cooking tinsels for our group of 10 to enjoy many meals together. We had an issue with the water pump and our host was very responsive and got repairmen there within hours.
This property was exactly as it was described we had a wonderful stay the owners were fantastic in responding to questions we had prior to arrival. Ease of booking and check in could not have been any better. We look forward to staying at this property again.
What a fantastic place to stay! My family came together for my sons wedding, and we really enjoyed ourselves! The cabin is very roomy and feels like home. The communication was great and very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again if we come up!!

Great Cabin
We came up with a group of 10 for a long weekend, and this cabin was perfect (if not even bigger than needed). It's comfortably furnished and has more than enough activities to keep groups occupied if needed. The owner, Hunter, is extremely responsive to any issues that arise and overall a pleasure to work with. The location is also great, as it's super close to both Boone and Blowing Rock and only about a 30-minute drive to Sugar Mountain. Would stay here again.
Our yearly, 2 night mountain trip 2025. Our friend group loves the Boone, Blowing Rock area so we look for a spot in that area... The house was close to the attractions we wanted to visit on that Saturday. Very fortunate that the weather was mild because the road/ driveway to the house is extremely steep. The house itself had positives and negatives. Positives- easy check in, 6 bedrooms , comfortable beds, nice fireplace, large covered, screened in deck. Negatives - musty smell, cobwebs throughout and cold downstairs.
We LOVED this cabin. It was big and roomy and comfy. There were 5 couples and we had plenty of room to spread out or all congregate by the TV. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate for us to enjoy the nice porch. While we did not cook a big meal, the kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and anything we might have needed. The hosts were prompt when contacted about anything before or during our trip and very pleasant. We would absolutely rent this cabin again.
Just a note. Us big kids came to the Tweetsie Christmas Train. If you haven't been, we highly recommend it. Old or young. The lights were beautiful. Although a little soggy out but we didn't let it ruin a great time.

August Family Weekend
The location and size was perfect for our group of 8 adults and 7 kids. The driveway is steep but was not an issue for us (we're from West Virginia and used to hills). The fire pit was not accessible by my elderly mother. Some of the outdoor furniture was badly damaged/aged. A ladder was sitting on the hot tub deck. The house was very dirty. Dirty towel, underwear and cigarette butt under one of the beds. The couch under the cushions was nasty. Rodent poop on the bunk beds and in the pull out couch downstairs. The host was very responsive and helpful with questions/communication.
Our group of 13 consisted of family and friends attending our son's wedding in the area. The 2 step entrance to the house worked well for an elderly family member using a wheelchair (with help). The home is very comfortably furnished and is very pretty. We made good use of the well stocked kitchen---plenty of dishes and pots and pans. We loved the outdoor spaces: screened porch and deck were great. We did not use the hot tub. Six bedrooms and 4 baths made it easy for everyone to get ready in the morning. It was nice to have the large downstairs common area for the 20 somethings to have their own space as desired.
The host, Hunter, was incredibly quick with replies to my questions. We really had no issues with the driveway and it is nice that it is paved. We only had some rain during our stay, so not sure how we'd do with snow on the driveway. We would absolutely stay here again. We loved it!!
Plenty of space on two levels - three bedrooms each. Main level is very open and was great for everyone to hang out together talking. Screened porch is right off the main space and was big as well. Kitchen had all the basics but not a lot more. Bring your own pans if you are particular. Downstairs gathering area was also large. Bedrooms were comfortable and decorated nicely. Driveway was not nearly as bad as some comments suggested although we did not have bad weather. One spot where the gravel road meets the driveway pavement needs work but we just manually downshifted and had no problems. Easy access to town and different directions. Roads to the house are full of curves so slow down, and look for deer! Owner communications in advance were excellent and thoroughly described everything!
Plenty of room to spread out. Kitchen well appointed. Driveway was a little treacherous with our 11 person van. Cupboards full of games. Nice outdoor space screened in porch.

About the host
Hosted by Hunter Buxton
We rented places in the mountains of North Carolina for years and years until we were able to buy a place of our own. We loved sharing the beauty and activities this area offers with our three children. If you would like recommendations for secret swimming holes, great near-by hikes or restaurants, let us know and we will tell you what we have learned.
Why they chose this property
We chose this house because it was big enough to hold lots of friends and family and we could not ask for a better location. The pavement ends right by our drive. Going left out of the drive and you can take a lovely walk with the dog -- it's a very short and gorgeous drive to the parkway, fishing , hiking , etc. If you go right out of the drive, you are 5-10 minutes from either Boone or Blowing Rock and all the amenities of those areas. We have a view from the screened porch and are surrounded by trees.
What makes this property unique
I've tried to make the house feel distinctive and added lots to do like pool, ping pong and games. My favorite part is the large screended in porch.
