We were looking for a place to unwind and relax for the weekend. It was perfect! Rob was the penultimate host. Rob even made us breakfast the morning before we left. The wildlife in the area is great to watch as well. We will definitely be staying again if we are in the area.
Very rustic and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

Lack of feeling about privacy and security. Cabin is connected to other home, door way just covered with curtains and furniture. Also needs a deep cleaning. Location was nice, and host seemed friendly.
The area and cabin is very pretty. Convenient location for activities in Marietta and Parkersburg but feels like you are far in the country. I wish it had been more apparent in the photos that the cabin is actually a connected part of the owners. We were under the impression it was removed but the host was great.house
Rob is an outstanding host his place is beautiful and peaceful. This is our 2nd year staying at this rustic cabin. We hope to return for a third year. Thank you Rob

The property owner was courteous and helpful. The "cabin" itself could use some cleaning and maintenance. The shower curtain was covered in mold and there were still crumbs on the table from the previous guest, not too mention the thick layer of dust on the hodge podge of decorations. What shocked us the most was finding a blockade of furniture and curtains with swinging doors that connected the "cabin" to the rest of the house. It did not instill a high sense of security.
A fried and I choose this for the location. We were looking for nice, twisty, two lane back road blacktop to ride our motorcycles. Great location near good food, great roads in both Ohio and West Virginia. Owner moved his car out of the garage to allow us to park inside, great conversation on local sites, restaurants, and roads to try. Highly recommended !! Neat place.

Cabin in the Woods
The pictures were accurate but we weren't told that the host's home and this house are connected. Also, when we arrived we were told another guest had mistakenly taken our key as well as their own. Host seemed surprised that I wanted the other key and didn't want a stranger with a key to where we were staying for the night. The setting though was very picturesque and quiet.
Roomie accommodations. Nice to have two separate sleeping/bathroom areas for two couples. Many extras including kitchen and bathroom items that were appreciated. Bed was extremely comfy!
We had a great time at the cabin. It easy to get to family friendly and pet friendly. Plenty of room for everyone. It is located to anything you need to do and when we go back to visit family we will stay there again.

We liked the cabin and the roominess of it. The location is very good except for the narrow road that leads to it.
This is just what we were looking for! Clean, quiet very well stocked with anything you may have forgotten! Rob was in touch with us prior to arriving & offered us many options of things to see while in the area! Will definitely stay here again!
It was the perfect little cabin. We had a great experience. Rob was a great host. He was very easy to contact. We enjoyed every second of our time there. I would absolutely book here again!!
I was looking for a place for my dad, his dog and I to stay for 5 days. I knew we probably wouldn't be too comfortable in a hotel for that long, so I came across this cabin. I figured my dad would really enjoy it. Cabins in the woods aren't my cup of tea, but it was very homey. The owner was very friendly. There wasn't a ton of info regarding check in or out, but we figured it out. Overall, was pretty happy with the place.
The place was delightful. It was secluded. We spotted four or five deer in the yard as we drove up, the deer were not at all disturbed by our presence. Rob, the owner was wonderfully attentive to our needs and wants. Everything about the place was restful which we needed. We look forward to our next visit.
This is the perfect place to stay if your going to be visiting anywhere nearby. Clean, spacious, awesome host, a really amazing place.

About the host
Hosted by Robert Brashear
Have lived at this location for 30 years and built everything here from the ground up. Ran city water and electric about 1200 feet back on to property and started building. First thing erected was a 190 year old log cabin , now 230 yrs old that was purchased in Ohio and moved to WV.... and live in it still. Next was a country Inn with a ninety foot porch .... that we have been running for twenty five years. Several more structures were built after that and planning more in the future
Why they chose this property
Safe, quiet, peaceful, wooded and serene. Priced to be a good value in comparison the other accommodations. Were laid back and have great concern for our guests. When your here you are our GUEST ......
What makes this property unique
Two miles off I-77 so were an easy stop as a lay over on your way to your final destination. Visit historical Marietta Ohio 5 minuted away..... Settled in 1788 as the first town in the Mid west
