This chic condo is ready for a family reunion or getaway with friends because it can accommodate up to eight people. The open kitchen has granite countertops and all the stainless-steel appliances, dishes, and utensils you need to enjoy your stay. The bar seats 4. The minimalist style in this unit helps the beach stand out. Large paintings of swaying palms keep the beach in mind in the living room, which has a couch and two armchairs facing the wall-mounted flat-screen TV. A beautiful blue rug with coral motif keeps the beach theme. From the living room, step out onto the private balcony. Here you can see the courtyard and the rolling dunes and glimpse the Gulf. The sea sounds and salt breeze will reach you as you sip your morning coffee or unwind in the evening. Back inside, the master bedroom (BR1) has a beautiful king-sized bed. The wicker headboard and blue seashells on the bedspread keep the beach mood going. Natural light comes in the huge window. At night, you can watch the wall-mounted flat-screen TV. The attached bathroom has a long granite counter to accommodate all of your things. The second bedroom (BR2) has a queen-sized bed with another wicker headboard and more seashells and starfish on the bedding. Another large window lets in daylight. The third bedroom (BR3) has two full-sized beds, another flat-screen TV, and of course a big window. A second full bathroom gives everyone the space they need. Amenities included: TV, Wi-Fi, access to charcoal BBQ pits and picnic areas, laundry facilities, 2 boardwalks to the beach, 2 shared pools. Located near downtown Port Aransas, you have easy access to the golf course, shopping, restaurants and entertainment.

Fun Mothers/daughters vacation spot

Great place to stay!

Loved the place! Beds were great! Access to the beach is awesome. Only thing I would change is the cookware. It was old and really worn. Couldn’t really use the pans. I usually cook full meals at the beach. That would not have been possible. Luckily we ate out and brought precooked meals.

First Visit Turns into New Family Tradition

This was the first family vacation I have coordinated (myself, my partner, my mother, stepfather, sister, and two nephews ages 4 and 2) and it was really a trial run to see if we could pull it off—but thanks to the amazing accommodations and unbelievable locations, we now have a new family tradition and cannot wait to come back next year. It was perfect for the kids, grandparents, and us 30-something adults. The town is so easy to navigate but you'll feel like you have your own little slice of the beach given the property layout. It's a gem.

the place itself was cute and clean. However unless you like the feel of sleeping on a hard floor, the beds were very uncomfortable. We left sleep deprived because of the very stiff mattresses. We called maintenance twice because of the washer and dryer not working properly. Two folding chairs left on the patio were rusty and one had a broken leg.

Issues with water heater

The condo has been updated nicely. The staffing may have been a problem since the cleaners were rushed and overlooked a few items, insufficient washcloths, hand towels and toilet paper. The main problem with this unit, IR44 is the water heater. Although maintenance responded quickly each time, we had to wait for showers until circuit breakers in the water heater closet were reset several times per day.

Loved the apartment layout & beachy theme! Great view of pool & beach in background! :) Kitchen was stocked with plates & pots & pans. I would reccomend some hot pads to be available for use. As for cleanness-- there were a few spots that hadnt been wiped down & dead insect in one of rooms on other side of bed. Front area by door was wet when I first entered property. Noticed the same thing next morning. I am guess its the mostisure from all the rain. OVERALL it was a GREAT PLACE TO STAY! :)

Ocean View

Property was as we expected. Very clean and updated everything seemed new. Beds were all very comfortable with a memory foam topper . The views were beautiful . Walk to the beach was about 5 min over the walkway. We still got a golf cart because it was so much fun to use. We had a great time. My party was large 7 people and we were all comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is one more TV in the middle room, it was the only one without a TV. Hot water was an issue a couple times so we had to spread out shower times. But overall very pleased.

Spring break 2021

We had super-bummer weather, but the property itself was great. The property is in walking distance of the beach and close drive to restaurants, etc. in 'town'. There is security checking in/out cars, so we felt safe. Lots of families- this is not a party property. In this condo, hot water was an issue... it ran out FAST.

Island Retreat has always been good to me.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This my 3rd time at Island Retreat. The addition Life in Paradise for management is a nice touch. The first two times, 2012 and 2013 were great and everything we expected. With Life in Paradise you get some much appreciated changes that I think make things considerably better, especially with our current situation in the world with Covid. The app and touchpad entry is nice. Get all your info before you check in and don't have to even go to the office. Staff is responsive should you need them. The location to the beach is great, two nice sized pools and plenty of bbq pits to use. The pits are cleaned daily and ready to go.
