Picturesque TRADEWINDS TERRACE is a penthouse sitting directly above Coral Bay's restaurants, bars, shops, and grocery/convenience stores. This uniquely designed round villa sits in a tropical setting on a hillside overlooking water and islands, providing a panoramic view for miles around. Conveniently located on a fully paved road (Rt. 108) immediately accessible to the main road (Rt. 10/Centerline) leading to St John island’s beaches & Virgin Islands National Park. EASY & free parking on site.

LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS. Your private penthouse of the cottage offers a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom 750 square foot unit with a well-appointed eat-in kitchen, relaxing living room with smart TV with WiFi for streaming video, expansive view from the king size bed in your master bedroom suite, and lavish bathroom features including rainfall shower head.

FULLY AIR CONDITIONED. Not all villas are fully air conditioned. We have two A/C split-units for cooling all living areas of your entire unit as well as ceiling fans. You can also kick back and enjoy the easterly trade winds and afternoon shade.

WATER AND MOUNTAIN VIEWS FROM ALL AROUND THE VILLA AND ON PANORAMIC DECK. Step outside your bedroom or living room doors to enjoy the sights and trade winds of the Caribbean. Spend the morning soaking up the sunrise with your coffee as you overlook unobstructed, east-facing water and island views. Relax in the afternoon shade watching the colors of the setting sky as you cook dinner on the Weber gas BBQ grill. End your evening kicking back and gazing at the stars and listening to music. Your panoramic deck sits 500 feet above sea level facing the refreshing trade winds overlooking Coral Bay, Tortola and Norman Island of the BVIs, and down island at the Sir Francis Drake Channel towards the Baths of Virgin Gorda and Spanish Town.

MINUTES AWAY. We are conveniently located to many destinations throughout the island. All the popular beaches such as Maho Bay, Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay are accessible within a few minutes’ drive from the villa. Great snorkeling is close by at Salt Pond and Haulover Bay. Hikes at popular Reef Bay and Ram's Head are within 10 minutes, as well as several others as we are within close proximity the Virgin Islands National Park. Popular Coral Bay restaurants such as Skinny Legs, Rhumb Lines, Lime Out, and Miss Lucy’s are in this area. Two grocery stores are at the bottom of the hill.

ABOUT THE VILLA: This villa is a house with independent units (an upstairs penthouse unit/apartment, a downstairs unit/apartment, and a guest suite). Each unit is complete with its own entry and designated parking space, etc. (there are no shared living spaces or amenities, with the exception of shared parking lot and exterior stairs). The unit in this listing is the top floor with high ceilings indoors and an expansive bird’s eye view outdoors.

STAIRS: STAIRS: As is typical with most villa rentals in St John, stairs are involved in accessing the unit. St John is mountainous, and villas are build in the mountain terrain either as an uphill-build or downhill-build. This villa is a downhill-build, so you descend flights of stairs to where Tradewinds Terrace is located.

CHECK-IN is at 10:00 am and CHECK-OUT is 3:00 pm.

TOWEL REPLENISHMENT: Guests staying 7 nights or more may request a mid-stay replenishment by host (for bath, kitchen, and beach).

CLEANING BEFORE CHECKOUT: means that there is no daily maid service, unless selected at the time of booking; however, for stays of more than 14 nights, we will offer complimentary cleaning of the unit (which includes dusting, floors, bathrooms, linen service, etc.) at a time(s) arranged between guest and host.

RENTAL JEEP: Book rental Jeep early, as demand is high. A rental vehicle is needed to get around the island, selecting a vehicle with 4-wheel drive is HIGHLY recommended for traveling mountain roads throughout the island. Roads on St. John can be described as steep, curvy and/or rough throughout the island. Uber and Lyft do not exist here so your own Jeep is recommended. FOR CLARIFICATION, since most beaches, hikes, restaurants, stores, attractions, etc. in St. John are not accessible within easy or quick walking distance from a vast majority or vacation rentals, a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for exploring St. John.

Maximum occupancy is 2 adults.

ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING, Vaping, E-Cigarettes, Burning etc. on any location on property - Dry & windy conditions = Major Fire Hazard on Mountain. You agree to check-out upon demand if found in violation.

No parties/events, no pets, no children/infants, no extra overnight guests.

Respite from the crowds
An absolutely stunning villa for two. The views and sunrises were spectacular. Away from the business of Cruz Bay. If you like to hike and snorkel and generally stay away from the touristy spots this is your place. Everything you need is here. Honestly- get your groceries- and just relax for days…hike or snorkel in the morning, see the sights in the afternoons, then settle in and grill and enjoy your time at this wonderful villa.

This villa was exceptionally clean and well thought out, it had everything guests could need staying at a VRBO. It also had absolutely gorgeous views and my favorite part was eating breakfast on the deck while the sun came up, or maybe feeling close to the moon while sitting on the deck after nightfall. Sally was great about checking in to make sure everything was going well for us. Could not have asked for a better place to stay on St John!
