Smoke was horrible

This place uses a management company, making it difficult to get responses and check in with the local manager. Once I was able to get her to respond, she told us our check in was later than listed on VRBO. Also, require us to meet her in person to get access to the apartment When she met us, she also tried to collect more money for the room. Luckily, she dropped it when I pushed back, saying we were paid in full. There was one shower, but the door on it was falling off the hinges and it generally flooded the entire bathroom if you used the shower. The biggest issue for us was that, despite being designed a non-smoking unit...it reaked of smoke. We all woke up with swollen, glassy eyes and couldn't wait to leave.

Paid for three nights, but only stayed for one. Needs repairs.

We booked this place specifically for the free parking. I had to ask three times via email for instructions on how to find the parking, but this turned out to be insignificant since the parking area was a pile of ruble with large rocks and we could not fit our rental car in any of the spaces. The paid parking was about an 8 min walk away. We gave the host our arrival time, but no one was around to greet us. It would have been impossible to find the apartment without calling the host from our cell phones once we arrived at the address. The check-in felt shady because the host asked for additional money without any written explanation, never provided a receipt, and never collected our travel documents. The apartment smelled like cigarettes and was not clean. There were bodily fluids crusted on the comforter, a towel with stains hanging in the closet, stains on the couch, and a large hole in the table which was covered with a pot holder. The bedroom window did not close because the hardware was broken. The shower door fell off in our hands when we opened it. The toilet leaked all over the bathroom floor. Overall, the place was so gross that we left after just one night and ate the cost of the other two nights. The apartment needs some minor repairs and major cleaning before it is worth even the off-season price.
