When you think Northern WI cabin stay, this is exactly what they should be. Small 700 square foot cabin sitting on the Moen Lake Chain just a few miles east of Rhinelander. Easy access via blacktop road that takes you right to the place. It offers 56 ft of water frontage. A small public boat landing right in front, makes it easy to get on and off the water. A new dock to tie up your boat for the evening on those summer stays, and drive out (at own risk) on the ice for those winter months.

Two Ladies staying for a chick weekend. We wanted 2 bedrooms, clean, secure, close to the water, a deck so we could sit and drink coffee in the morning and food/drinks nearby so we didn't have to worry about drinking and driving. We got it all. We were happy to have a full size fridge, it came in handy. Bathroom was new. Came with towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is a bar nearby but we didn't even hear the band playing until we walked in the door. There are fans in the cabin and they came in handy to keep the air moving. Loved the view. Great Stay. Mike and Lani were quick with their communication. It's a smaller lake on the chain which was nice, boats went by but overall it was quiet. There was a grill available as well as a firepit with a good amount of firewood, however we were only there two nights and didn't use either. We sat out on the dock for hours visiting and enjoying the sunshine! Great getaway! Would recommend we had a memorable time.

Convenient for fishing

The cabin is nice. The boat launch is right off the deck. The bar next door has pretty good food. Very nice set up for a fishing trip.

Great Lakeside Cabin

Great cabin for a weekend on a beautiful lake. The first night, the bar was a little noisy but it wasn't too much for us. The lake is beautiful and we heard loon calls at night. Had a great little campfire, too. Cabin was clean and the property managers were great. My only tip is that the sun rises into the bedroom windows which have fairly light curtains so if you are a bit of a princess like me, bring a sleep mask.

Great cabin

Primo spot on third lake. This cabin has everything you need for a fun filled lake weekend. But really its the location that makes this place great. You have access to the boat launch near by, your own private dock and your steps away from birchwood bar and lodge. Mike was a great host , he was incredibly accommodating. We love checking out new lakes to fish every year for our annual fishing trip but would definitely consider coming back to this cabin. Overall we had wonderful experience

Ice fishing trip 2025

This was our annual ice fishing trip 2nd time staying here. We had a blast here with the cabin being on the lake. We had access to all five lakes from this cabin. We will be back. New bathroom with large shower big enough for a bigger then normal man FYI. This is a beautiful cabin with a pair of Bald Eagles that nest right down the lake. Every morning we had deer out front. I look forward to coming back here every year.

Golf weekend

My brother, his coworker and myself we on a golf vacation so we did not spend much time at the rental property. The house met all of our needs for the weekend. Was very close to a bar/restaurant and public boat launch so it was busy. The house had a lot of carpenter ants too. There were several traps through out the house but the ants were winning.

We thought this was the perfect cabin. The views were great. Watched the sunrise everyday.

No problems. Perfect size cabin for 3 adults. Fire pit. Grills...charcoal and electric. Boat launch is close.

Perfect for what we needed.

Only reason for the 4 vs. 5 rating is due to tiny details. Bathroom door needs to be adjusted so it closes. Hand soap dispenser was near empty. These are items that are easy to remedy, and should be taken care of prior to having guests. Bar and grill is conveniently located a very short walk up the hill, as in 100 yards or so. Perfect to get dinner and a drink without having to drive. I would stay again.

Great stay and fishing

Caught some good Muskie and this was the perfect place to come home to. Great location on water and next to the bar (they have good food also). Very clean and nice. Was missing a sauce pan to make a grilled cheese or tacos and the towels smelled bad. Other than that it was great. Will be booking again

Not happy

The property was not being before we arrived. The owner got people to clean it, but it took a couple of hours for them to get there. This delayed us cooking our Thanksgiving dinner. Also, the TV in the bedroom wasn't working. One of the reasons we selected this property was for the TV in the bedroom. We have one at home and it helps us to get to sleep. The owner eventually fixed it but it took some time. We arrived on Thursday and he came to fix the TV on Saturday. This diminished our enjoyment of the getaway that we had planned..

Hey James. Yes, I admitted 100% fault not having the place clean. Like I said over the phone, we had an animal that had some emergency issues, and i forgot to let the cleaners know to have it ready. I did offer the other cabin for you to stay at to eat dinner at, but you declined. Apparently the Roku stick did go out while you were there as well. Once I was able to get there and take a look at the situation, I went and picked one up. The main tv did work just fine, and I was unaware that it was that big of a deal as the cleaners said you had other means to hook your stuff up. So like I said, I take full responsibility on the one, and we corrected it ASAP. The Tv is a little bit out of my hands. I wish I knew exactly when technology would breakdown, but it happens, and we fix it as fast as we can.

We grew up in Northern Wisconsin and love getting to enjoy the Rhinelander area with our family. The best thing is that we can be hosts and share our little Northwoods cabin with our guests!

This property is located in a great spot in the Northwoods of WI. Out of town, but close to town. Local bar next door which offers food and drinks. Just a unique place with water or sled trails right at the front door.
