Our house, with its wooden gate and slate roof, is located in the heart of the Vallée de L'homme in the Périgord Noir, in the centre of a village. It is close to local shops and restaurants. It’s 6 km from Montignac-Lascaux, Sarlat, Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, and Les Eyzies-de-Tayac—home to the Museum of Prehistory, Le Thot, and prehistoric sites for visitors of all ages. There are also hiking trails for walkers, not to mention a canoe rental centre just 100 metres away where you can explore the Vézère River.
Accommodations
- A large 42 m² living area featuring a kitchen, dining room, and a spacious living room. Two separate bedrooms with a bathroom, a standard toilet, plus an additional dry toilet upstairs, and another living room.
- A sunny courtyard with a stone wall, featuring a table for outdoor dining.
- We have a large field with two walnut trees along the banks of the Vézère River, perfect for picnics or walks near the house.
This house has been entirely furnished with recycled and vintage items, so you’ll be dining on ceramic tableware from the 1970s ;)
Guest Access
Access is very easy, as the house is located on the church square in the heart of the village; you can park your car next to the house for free.
Additional Notes
The house has a history—it was once the village school, then a barn, and later a cellar. We restored it while preserving its character: the limestone facade, the slate porch, the slate roof, the exposed timber framing that bears the marks of time, and the reused beams.
Inside, the exposed stone walls blend seamlessly with raw materials such as concrete and wood.
It has been awarded the “Fondation Patrimoine” designation.
