Cozy home with plenty of space for the kids to run around and play outside. Relaxing and quiet just far enough away from the city. Everything you need to have a family dinner and friends over to hang out by the fire pit. Loved this place.
We were in for a wedding and needed a spot for my family of 6. This beautifully maintained home worked perfectly for us! There's a pond thats packed with blue gill, crappie, and bass and adorable barn cats to keep the kids busy, a patio to enjoy the night sounds of the country and the house is adorable. We will definitely be back!
Weather was beautiful so we was outside a lot. Nice yard! Did some fishing and played yard games. Enjoyed the friendly cats! Saw plenty of deer passing through the field! So much space in house to play board games and relax. All the kitchen supplies you could want! We all enjoyed our stay! Thanks!
Our family of 6 stayed at Doc's Farmhouse and loved every minute of it! We came from Colorado to visit family and friends and this rental made us feel right at home. We were able to use the full kitchen to cook and eat as a family. The laundry was a God-send and the overall favorite was the outdoors on the property. Our kids ran around outside all evening the first night and loved playing hide-n-seek once it got dark. With 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 elementary age active kids, it was all the perfect fit for our family.
My husband and I have stayed at this property multiple times. It never disappoints!! From the moment you step in the door, you have everything you need. The photos displayed throughout the house of the property over the years, is a wonderful touch. It is a farmhouse steeped with history yet it has all the modern amenities you would want or need. The sweet barn cats that greet you when you’re outside takes me back to when I was a child and was greeted by our barn cats. You couldn’t find another place with kinder hosts who go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. If you’re on the fence about this property, I encourage you to make a reservation. You will not be disappointed!!
An inviting farmhouse with lots of character and history. This property has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There’s lots of little extras and special touches throughout the home that makes it warm and inviting. The pictures throughout, showing some of the rich history of the home and property, are a nice touch.
The amenities and appliances available are more than adequate. The home is meticulously clean and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need to plan and cook if you’re staying in.
The property itself is pretty and surrounded by woods and farm fields. This makes a nice setting for viewing wildlife. The barn cats love to greet you when you’re outside.
We loved chatting with the property owners. Wonderful, friendly, and helpful couple. They provide a personal touch that you just don’t find anywhere else.
We enjoyed our stay and are already booked for another stay!!
My family stayed at the property to visit family in Waterloo. The house was so beautiful and fun for us all! We chatted with the property owners who were nearby on the adjacent property across from the pond and they were so kind and accommodating. The barn cats were a definite perk as they greeted us every evening when we sat outside. We went fishing at their pond and shared wonderful memories together. Highly recommend! A slice of heaven!
We loved our stay at Doc's Farmhouse! It is so beautiful and peaceful. Lisa and Jim were wonderful hosts. Making friends with the four adorable barn cats was such a fun bonus! We would definitely stay there again and were sad to leave.
We were in town from out of state to visit family and this was the perfect spot for us. It was central to everything we needed access to and was a beautiful spot to drink coffee in the morning.
Had an amazing week stay at Doc’s Farmhouse with my family. We quickly became comfortable there, and it felt like home. The owners are close by if you need anything and they’re very responsive. Several barn cats and a fishing pond add to the charm. We saw a deer run thru the neighboring cornfield and came upon a wild turkey too. Fun fun!! A couple miles drive and you’re in town, with Walmart, restaurants, a winery, and other amenities. I will definitely rent Doc’s farmhouse again. Thank you Jim & Lisa!
We were visiting family in Waterloo and needed a place close by. Doc’s Farmhouse was perfect! Lisa and Jim could not have been more gracious.
