Beautiful cottage in outstanding neighborhood! Walking distance to Central Street restaurants and shops. Host is exceptionally responsive to the guests needs.
This was a cute home in an excellent, beautiful neighborhood. We rented this home for a week before/after moving our son into Northwestern. It was perfect for our needs! It was a nice haven to spend the last few days with him before moving him in and plenty of space to organize his things for move-in. The beds were extremely comfortable and wi-fi was excellent. The location was second to none. The owner was exceptionally responsive. Would absolutely stay here again.
This is a great cozy cottage in a very nice and quiet Evanston neighborhood. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials and the owner had great communication. 5 star rating for us on this house.
Excellent location - highly convenient, well-situated, with plenty of towels and comfortable beds Accommodation Highlights:•Perfect for adult children visiting during Christmas Holiday•Well-equipped kitchen with all necessary amenities•Comfortable overall living space•Good washer and dryer on-site•Off-street parking spaceMinor Challenges:•Toaster malfunction caused a smoke incident•Wobbly dining chairs made it hard (impossible for 88-year-old mom) to eat at the dining tableAlternative dining arrangements used:•Ate from laps•Utilized the coffee tableRating 9/10
I loved how well-equipped the kitchen is. John was so accommodating! When I mentioned they were past their prime, he replaced two frying pans the same day! The cottage was perfect for us while work was being done in our Evanston home 5 minutes away. Highly recommended.
This is a cute little house, whimsically decorated in 60s style, in a lovely tree-lined neighborhood. The house is comfortably appointed with everything one needs and the owner was quite responsive when we had a little problem with the front door. It's a short walk to cafes, pharmacy, and parks. The only thing we didn't love was a too-soft mattress. But we would definitely rent this place again. It had a lot of charm.
Everything was immaculate and just as pictured. My son attends school at Northwestern University and we were in town for Family Weekend. We also took a road trip and visited potential colleges for my teenage daughter. The home was perfect for both of us. We rented a car and it was a 10-minute drive to the Northwestern campus. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed for meal preparation. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. The beds were super comfortable! We enjoyed everything about our stay and plan to return again soon!

About the host
Hosted by John Fell
I'm a lifelong North Shore resident who has a passion for the area and wants to share it with guests.
We choose the 'off the beaten path' accommodations when traveling ourselves and we wanted to offer that option to others visiting our community.
Why they chose this property
A perfect home away from home for Grandparents visiting their kids and grandchildren for longer stay. We also have accommodated local residents displaced from their homes while remodeling.
This is our third vacation rental in Evanston. Our others include Casita Reva a 1 BR apartment and The Arnold a 3BR apartment. Listings are available on VRBO.
What makes this property unique
Enjoy the neighborhood, Take a jog to the lake and then grab a cup of coffee or breakfast at one of the nearby coffee shops on Central Street.
The NU lakefront campus, Ryan Field and Evanston beaches are local favorites for walks. Downtown Evanston and Old Orchard and nearby Central Street offer a extensive variety of shopping and dining choices.
