My family of 3 stayed over the weekend for our wedding anniversary and it was perfect for us. We loved the house. It was very clean and set up nicely. It was just a 1 or 2 minute walk down to the beach which was perfect. We would stay again.

We wanted a quick weekend getaway where the guys could fish and the girls could relax and this home delivered! The house is perfect for 2 couples and the communication with Mike and Betsy was top notch.
The neighbors were so friendly and the location to the beach was perfect.
We lucked out on the weather and wish we would have stayed at least one extra day.
Thank you Mike and Betsy for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Extremely clean and homey cabin. Lovely decor. Well equipped. But the best part was the kindness and attentiveness of the property owners. I will return as soon as I can.

This is a truly lovely vacation home. It was perfect for a three night Thanksgiving getaway with my partner and my mom. You know your rental home has a well appointed kitchen if you can cook your Thanksgiving feast there! Betsy and Mike went above and beyond to make the place festive with just the right amount of subtle holiday decor - and they even provided us with a roasting pan for the turkey! The living room was a cozy place to spend our rainy evenings with the pellet stove providing warmth and ambience while we enjoyed our view of the canal. We hope to visit again in summer to enjoy it in a different season, too!

Thank you so much, Karen! We are so pleased that you enjoyed our home. Thank you for taking such great care of it. See you in the summer!
We absolutely loved staying at Betsy and Mike’s cottage at Hood canal. Our teens enjoyed the loft area with a very spacious bathroom including the large bath tub! We enjoyed the very comfortable king sized bed in the downstairs master so lots of space to spread out! The deck area was very inviting for dinner’s outdoors. The house had all the usual amenities and the kitchen was well stocked. Best of all, we loved kayaking in the early morning on the canal where the water was smooth and clear as glass! The neighbors in this community are also very friendly and super nice:) Betsy and Mike were lovely to meet and we Highly recommend this place to all who love the outdoors!!

Thank you, Asma! We so enjoyed meeting you and getting a chance to meet your lovely family! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the Seaside Chalet. Have the rest of a wonderful summer!
The property was clean, and well cared for, with a very inviting décor :-) . Betsy and Mike were awesome hosts. Betsy left us some very thoughtful treats in honor of the occasion that brought us to their home. All communications were delightful!
We chose the location because we sought to access local hikes. Although not exactly close, we absolutely enjoyed the fabulous hikes we did. First we went to Lena Lake. We ended up heading up past Lena (after a swim!!! lovely!) to the Brothers Basecamp. Didn’t quite get there—it was more a scramble then a hike (up and over blown down logs etc.—it wouldn’t have been a problem for us 25 years ago, but we were feeling our age a bit —especially at the end after 10+ miles—LOL!).
During the latter part of our stay, our son was able to join us for a meal with our daughter in Port Angeles, and along the way we stopped to hike along the Lower Quilcene River. It was absolutely enchanting, less traveled, and easy day hike. Highly recommend :-). Our last hike to Mildred Lake was grueling, on an unmaintained trail, but was ultimately VERY rewarding.
Betsy and Mikes home was a perfect space to enjoy at the end of the day!
And, a final note, the community in which the home is nestled is filled with some of the most fabulous neighbors! They were definitely part of the charm of the experience for us.
We highly recommend Betsy and Mike's place, and so appreciate the opportunity to stay at their home.

All our best, Mike and Betsy
Beautiful place to stay. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were super comfortable, the master bathroom upstairs was gorgeous and both bathrooms had huge walk-in showers. The furniture was very comfortable and we loved having three different places or areas outside to sit. Total bonus were the kayaks! Betsy was quick to respond and very helpful. We would stay here again!
We've stayed in dozens of vacation rentals, and Mike and Betsy's place is one of the nicest. Everything is very well put together and extremely clean, there's plenty of space and a nice feel to the house, everything worked as expected and M&B were extremely responsive in checking to make sure we had a nice visit.
Would definitely stay here again!
The A-frame house was very cute and cozy. It was a great getaway for a couple of days. The host was very hospitable and made sure all of our needs were met. The couple of neighbors we met were very friendly. Would definitely stay in this property again.
This property is 100% as advertised. Recently redecorated with quality materials, lots of light, super clean in a fantastic location.
The beach and firepit are just steps from the front door. Belfair State Park is a 1/4 mile walk via a side road.
Betty and Mike were gracious hosts. They made every part of our visit easy and enjoyable.
This was our first visit here but it won't be our last.

This house was perfect for our 4-person family stay. Plenty of space to stretch out, relax and read, enjoy movies as a family, and have privacy too. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals. Comfy beds with great linens and cozy extra blankets for cuddling up at movie time. Great deck and chairs for reading in the sunshine. We left the house only for a lovely kayak adventure and for beach walks at the state park (5 minute walk from the house). We loved the house and location and hope to return sometime! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

This is a beautiful, charming and relaxing beach home tucked away in a very private community. We watched the birds and seals from the front deck while enjoying a morning coffee. The hosts are very caring and helpful. This is a place I would love to come back and stay again!

The house was great and the neighborhood is friendly, we met a lot of the neighbors in the 4 days we were there. The kayaks were a great option, definitely recommended. Be aware though that AT&T cell service is spotty at the house, but the house itself has good internet.

This is hands down the most amazing vacation rental I've ever had the pleasure to experience and communication with the friendly owners was very easy. My family and I travel all over the world and decided to hit the Pacific Northwest this summer for a reprieve from the summer heat. The house is exactly as described in the listing, beautifully decorated, well stocked, and most importantly SUPER clean. It's also located in an amazingly quaint neighborhood with really friendly neighbors who also have beautifully maintained homes and yards. The home overlooks the water and it's less than a minute to walk to the waterfront at the little community beach. We were blessed with warm days that allowed us to go swimming. The owners were also good with having kayaks delivered and stored at the house. There's a kayak rental shop less than a mile away that will bring kayaks to you (Hood Canal Kayak Rentals). Kayaking the Hood Canal was totally amazing! At this end of the canal (South end) there's virtually no current and the tides come and go quite calmly. We paddled against the flood (incoming tide) at one point, but never would have known it based on the ease of the paddle alone. We're experienced kayakers, but I would have no qualms recommending this area to novices too. Just be sure to practice basic kayak safety, wear a PFD, and look out for the few boats. (This water is so calm we even saw a distance swimmer crossing the canal with curious seals following behind her.) Lastly, the location of Belfair is perfect. The house is just rural enough to be peaceful and quiet, but a short 10 min. drive to town for groceries and several restaurant choices. We'd never been to the PNW before and wanted to check out a good portion of it. For this portion of our trip we started out with a drive down from the San Juan Islands, which was about a 3.5 hour drive from the ferry terminal in Anacortes. We used this house as a "home base" for our other adventures. We spent a day circling the Olympic Peninsula, spending a couple of hours at Ruby Beach (amazing), a few hours at the Hoh Rain Forest (super awesome hiking), and taking dinner in Forks (cute town with some novelty Twilight Saga fan photo ops and Twilight menu options at Pacific Pizza). We also headed out for hiking at Mt. Rainier National Park, which was about a 2 hour drive from the house. And, of course, hit Seattle a couple of times, which was about a 1.5 hour drive. I would highly recommend this rental property!!

We had a great time with our kids and family at this wonderful beach house. So clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. Hosts are quick to respond, thoughtful and made everything so easy. We I’ll be back!

We are so pleased that you had a great time. Thanks for taking such great care of our home. Looking forward to having you staying again!
We stayed here for a weekend to get away from our normal routine, and this location was perfect. We were able to go to the state park, spend time along the small waterfront beach that’s just a jog across from the home, and spent time relaxing. Lots of comfortable places to sit and enjoy the view and one another’s company. Kitchen came with everything we needed, and the rooms were the perfect size. The only downsides were that the king bed downstairs is really soft (which younger me would have loved!), and that we didn’t have more time to stay. Thanks to the hosts!
My mom had a lovely stay at the Seaside Chalet. The home was exceptionally comfortable and in a friendly neighborhood. She encouraged me to book a stay for my young family which I plan to do.

About the host
Hosted by Betsy and Mike
While we are not new to property rentals (we had two rentals in Arizona), we are new to VRBO! Having come from the hospitality industry (we both were airline employees), we know how much it means to "enjoy the experience". We want this experience to be amazing and a place you will want to return to and/or tell your friends about. We love helping people and hope you will allow us to help you have a wonderful stay at the Seaside Chalet!
Why they chose this property
We take cleanliness seriously. We want this to be a great place for you and your family so we take extra care in ensuring it is clean and well-stocked. The Seaside Chalet is situated in a community of homeowners who take great pride in their homes. It is just steps away from the community beach where you can enjoy some of the warmest water in the Puget Sound. Whether swimming, boating, kayaking or hiking, you won't be bored! But it's also the perfect place to simply wind down and read a book.
