Friday night stay
Beautiful and relaxing evening with comfortable beds. The shower could have been better with more water pressure but great stay nonetheless.

Wildflower stay
We totally enjoyed San Saba. We were close to to town and our activities. We loved the pecan stores downtown and the restaurants. The little Wildflower was quaint and clean. The bed was comfortable. It was very hot in town so ac was a welcoming plus.

Cozy
Sheri, the cottage needed some things that are usually provided. Needed TVs that worked. Paper towels in kitchen. Coffee filters (fortunately I brought some with me). Dish soap to clean our cups, coffee pot, etc. Body soap in the bathroom. Have you ever used shampoo to wash your body and hair?

Family Christmas
I rented three rooms. This was the best of the three but the communication is terrible with this owner. We couldn’t get in because of a problem with the lock. It was fixed but the windows here are not secure. We watched the maintenance man push the plexiglass out of the window, crawl in and then fix the door. He then screwed the plexiglass back in the frame. I could fit my hand up to my knuckles through the gap. As in my other review, I know that the owner will just blame the tenant for all bad reviews but we rent through vrbo frequently and have never had a stay as bad as this one. I will never rent from these owners again. Sherri was very rude on the phone and spoke to me like all the issues were my fault.

As a special education teacher, my focus and specialization revolve around behavior and its impact on academics. I find great fulfillment in working with students who have diverse learning needs, particularly in the middle school setting. It is a dynamic and rewarding experience to help these young individuals navigate their academic journey while addressing their unique behavioral challenges. Beyond my professional life, I am a wife and a mother. My husband is a Marine Veteran who has transitioned into a sales role. We have been blessed with two wonderful children who bring us immense joy. Our family is complete with two dogs, two cats, and two fish, creating a lively and loving environment. In 2019, my husband and I embarked on a new adventure when we purchased a 1943 motor lodge. We immediately set to work renovating the interior to transform it into a cozy and inviting space for guests. The journey of managing our own motor lodge has been both exciting and challenging. Each day presents its own obstacles, but we approach them with a positive mindset, knowing that every hurdle brings new lessons and opportunities for growth. Life has a way of surprising us, and my husband and I are a testament to that. We have known each other since high school, but it wasn't until 25 years later that we reconnected and embarked on a whirlwind romance. Our love story is filled with excitement and a deep appreciation for the second chance we were given.

Why they chose this property

San Saba holds a special place in our hearts because of our strong family ties. My grandmother, who hails from San Saba, instilled in us a deep appreciation for the town and its unique charm. Growing up, my father had the privilege of calling San Saba home, and his memories and stories painted a vivid picture of the community's warmth and character. In 1998, my parents made the decision to retire in San Saba, drawn to its tranquil beauty and tight-knit community. Their presence in the town allowed us to forge lasting connections and build relationships with the locals. San Saba became more than just a destination; it became a second home. Throughout the years, I have cherished countless visits to San Saba, creating cherished memories that have shaped who I am today. Exploring Mill Pond Park, with its serene landscapes and picturesque views, has always been a favorite pastime. The Regency Bridge, a historic landmark and the last suspension bridge in Texas, has captivated my imagination since childhood. And no trip to San Saba would be complete without a visit to Harry's Department Store, where the spirit of the community thrives. Our family's ties to San Saba run so deep that you may even find some artifacts belonging to our family proudly displayed in the local museum. It is a testament to the enduring connection we have with this extraordinary place. When we had the opportunity to purchase the motor lodge in San Saba, it felt like destiny. It was our way of giving back to the community that has given us so much joy and cherished memories. Our goal is to create a haven for travelers, offering them a glimpse into the rich history and warm hospitality that San Saba is known for. We cannot wait to welcome you to our motor lodge, where you will not only find comfort and relaxation but also a touch of our family's legacy. We hope that your stay with us will be filled with unforgettable experiences and a deep appreciation for the remarkable town of San Saba.
