We had a great time. Chris was available for check in and to help during our stay. The home is immaculate and very well furnished. The views are stunning with fantastic sunsets. Will definitely book again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property..away from the hustle bustle of the city, but close enough to major activities! The house has been constructed with a lot of love and been well anointed with all the comforts one could think of.
The hosts, Chris and Rachel were wonderful. Met us at the property and very friendly and welcoming. Tour was very helpful and answered all our questions. The bottle of wine and fresh fruit was a great addition. The home was in immaculate condition with nice upgrades on the appliances, which were just like new. Decorating was beautifully done and bedding, towels, etc all all top notch. The home has large windows with unbelievable views of the Gore and Sawatch mountain ranges. Would love to come back in the summer and sit on the patio and take in the views. Overall could not have been better from a home rental standpoint and would strongly recommend.
We spent half of our Colorado vacation in the middle of a popular ski town nearby and the other half at Chris’ place….which is perfectly remote but close enough to enjoy the surrounding attractions.
Excellent experience. The home was beautiful, the scenery was unreal and the host was as helpful as could be. Our 3 young children couldn't have had a better time. Enjoyed the seclusion from the main tourist areas, but was also convenient enough to drive to all our desired destinations.
More beautiful than the pictures portray. Beautiful modern and sustainable home with unparalleled views. Chris is a fabulous host. Truly feels like a home away from home. Short drive to amazing skiing. Amazing stay. Highly recommend.
My husband and I stay in Vail Valley every summer. This Wolcott location provided a gorgeous quiet setting away from the Vail tourists and congestion. If you like quiet evenings with a gorgeous view of several mountain ranges, this place is IT! We cooked in the wonderful kitchen and took early morning and evening walks in the ranch like setting. The hosts are a joy! A+++
Our two adult children with their spouses and one granddaughter stayed at this lovely, and absolutely fully equipped home. I felt like I was cooking in my own kitchen except the view was of the high Colorado desert instead of the pacific coast rainforest. Everything is meticulously maintained and the green construction of the home is very interesting.
My granddaughter loved feeding the chickens!
Rachel, the host, was super helpful, and even went the extra mile, actually more, to drop off a few forgotten items to my sister.
Would stay again for a vacation. Cheers.
We chose this property for the seclusion and beauty of the home and the location. It did not disappoint! I know it is cliché to say that the photos don't do it justice but it is really true in this case. The one attribute we did not realize is that the ceilings are all 10 feet which makes the scale and openness of the home very impressive. The house was clean, well stocked and filled with details that makes the stay even more enjoyable.
Even though the location is secluded it is not too far from great attractions. The scenery available from the windows and patio area is stunning and will always be a highlight of the trip. This is a great place if you are looking for a relaxing retreat with your family.
It is also worth noting that Chris is a great host. Very helpful in answering questions and providing options for activities in the area. When we make it back to Colorado we definitely will want to reserve this home again.
We throughly enjoyed our stay in the beautiful throughly furnished house. The peaceful serenity was amazing; away from the Vail valley hustle and bustle but not too far.
We were 2 couples from NYC in our late 30s and early 40s who stayed in Chris' mountain house during our Vail ski vacation. Chris is an excellent host (very thoughtful, humble and responsive), and as other reviewers have mentioned, the house is modern and well maintained.
Coming from NYC, we were looking to get away from big crowds, and this was the perfect home as it is nestled in the mountains. The 360-degree mountain views and the sunrise from the house are nothing like I have ever seen before. Time permitting, if I am back in Vail, I would certainly like to stay here again.
My family and I stayed here over Christmas. The house was even more beautiful in person and the views were spectacular! The house was Very clean with a bright and airy aesthetic. The house is impressively eco-friendly/green but stays as warm and cozy as you would hope! We really enjoyed the fireplace and the heated floors in the bathrooms. As for daily activities, we commuted to Vail each day for skiing which was a 30-45 mins drive but there was easy access to I-70 so it didn't seem bad. You Definitely need a 4-wheel drive car in the winter time; although Chris and the subdivision maintenance did keep the roads as clear as possible. All in all, a Great experience. Chris was excellent to work with.
Note: The house is hard to find in the dark (and snow). So, I suggest you arrive during the day/dusk hours.
If you're looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place for the perfect, relaxing vacation! We enjoyed 12 wonderful days in this beautiful ecofriendly home. All the modern conveniences of a new home with beautifully appointed kitchen, bedrooms, and baths, and family room with large gas fireplace.
We love to cook and the kitchen and large pantry had everything we needed to make our own gourmet meals. Chris and Rachel were even kind enough to share some of the fresh goodies from their garden. We awoke to deer, bunnies, and chippies in the yard each day and many of the early evenings. Chris even bought, assembled, and delivered a firepit with wood so we could enjoy the chilly evenings on the patio while we took in the mountain views and the star gazing. We also had fun with the games and jigsaw puzzles available for guests to enjoy. We would highly recommend this home to anybody looking for a peaceful, quiet, and comfortable home for their next amazing vacation. Thank you to Chris and Rachel for being such wonderful hosts!
This is a top-notch property and experience! While typically things in real life don’t always look quite as good as the picture, this home and its setting exceed it.
It is a short drive to Beaver Creek, a little further to Vail, but worlds away in terms of peace and tranquillity.
The home is gorgeous, with tons of room for families. As a builder, one can see the care and attention to detail that Chris put into the home both in terms of its beauty, how it sits in the peaceful mountains and the Green design. After a long day, we loved sitting outside on the patio enjoying the views.
It was so easy to communicate with Chris, he answered all of our questions both before and during our stay.
Thanks Chris for being a great host!
An absolutely beautiful property - the views are stunning and the house is immaculate. Conveniently located off of I70, ~2 hours and some change from Denver international airport. Chris was very communicative, the house well appointed, and a very helpful welcome book with clear directions to use all of the higher-tech house features. My entire group (five of us) fit very comfortably, and can't wait to return some day!
Stunning views from this secluded, gorgeous, family-friendly mountain home
My wife, children (5,8 yrs), and I recently stayed at this new mountain home and are already planning our return next year. The home is absolutely amazing! It’s perfect for a family getaway and would comfortably hold a much larger group than ours (we only used two of the six beds). The bunk beds in the “kids” room were the largest I have ever seen in my life, custom made timber structure with queen size mattresses.
We arrived late at night after driving from Denver (consider Eagle… much closer). The house is about a 10-15 minute drive from the I-70 highway. When we awoke in the morning, we were greeted with the most spectacular views from inside the home. The mountains, valleys, and sagebrush prairie landscape show through the many enormous windows making us feel completely immersed in the Colorado mountains.
Outside, a stone patio adjoins the living room and makes a perfect outdoor dining or gaming space. Another patio, across the lawn, features four Adirondack chairs and a 360 degree view perfect for morning coffee sipping or night star gazing.
The owner spared no expense in outfitting the home with all of the most modern amenities including luxurious bathrooms with radiant floor heating and kitchen with high end appliances. The house has separate climate zones for each room so that everyone can personalize to their comfort needs. Large, smart TVs are in each room (LR and three BRs) when downtime is needed. The rental home also has several green-building/ eco-friendly features detailed in the manual.
The rental feels very private. There are only a few distant neighboring homes visible since each lot in this area is 40+ acres according to the owner. The owners’ home is on the same 40 acre lot as the rental but it is at a lower elevation and you don’t see much more than their roof top. The owners were very friendly and responsive to any questions I had during the stay.
We saw bunnies, deer, and many birds right from the backyard. We passed the time walking/biking/driving the many miles of dirt roads of the land surrounding the home. We also hiked nearby peaks and did a few light paddling trips down the Colorado river. Being so close to Beaver Creek, the home would definitely make an excellent home base for a future winter ski trip.
I highly recommend this rental. It stands out as truly unique for the picturesque, serene mountain setting that pours in through the many windows and surrounds you outside.
