Would like to recommend but.....
Well furnished, equipped and situated villa in Val do Lobo. No complaints.
But the plunge pool! Not so much an inviting pool, more a muddy pond. Totally unusable for the duration of our stay. Owners provided Welcome Card for one week's use of pool at Tennis Centre, but no compensation for other lost days.
For the very first time we had a technical problem with the pool, which was immediately fixed during the guest's stay. The use of the pool was never harmful to health, only the water was unclear. Nevertheless we apologized for that and provided the welcome card for three guests for one week which included - beside use of the pool in the tennis centre - several other benefits like free use of the circuit bus, discount for SPA, fitness center, green fee etc. After five days, the water of the pool was clear again. Therefore, there was no need for further compensation.
Wonderful Holiday House
The description doesn’t pay justice of the real quality of the holiday house and it‘s location: it is fantastic! The agency photos don‘t reflect the effective size of the house, which is much bigger. Perfectly equipped with everything somebody would wish for during a holiday. The resort is stunning and offers lots of possibilities.
We had a fantastic holiday and we are planning to be back!
Overall a lovely place to stay
On arrival we were greeted by Mrs Wollff who was so accommodating and friendly. She highlighted everything we needed to know about the property and also came once during the week to maintain the pool.
The accommodation itself was lovely. All that we could have wished for was there for us with the only exception being the air-conditioning. Although the property is advertised as having air conditioning (and it does) the air conditioning is in the form of a mobile unit that needs to be moved from 1 room to another in order to cool a room. Concern that our children would not be able to sleep in the heat meant we kept this unit in their room however we had to turn it off after they had gone to sleep as the unit requires having an open window which we were not comfortable with. It's a lesson learned for us though as we would check the type of air conditioning on offer for any future bookings.
With that one exception the whole experience was great. Once again on our departure Mrs Wollff came (at 6:30 am) to collect the keys from us which was so good of her given the time.
I would recommend this property to a friend - but only if they were not going in high summer - perhaps May or September would be better once the weather is a little cooler.
In addition I would like to thank Clarissa for her help prior to us arriving. Very helpful and clear on what was required to secure the property.
Spacious, well located, charming villa
A wonderfully spacious villa, very well equipped. A lovely small pool and grassy area beyond it. Well located, a 10 minute walk from the praca and also a 10 minute walk from the tennis courts. Perfect for a family of four.
Welcome to paradise! In the midst of well-kept luxury resort Vale do Lobo is the Casa da Paz (Villa 735) located on the 15th Hole of the Royal Golf Course. Restaurants, shops and the Praca is just a short walk away.
From Vale do Lobo you can visit many interesting towns and villages:
1) Faro (20-30 minutes): Here you can get an overview of the city, when the (tourist) Bähnchen an itinerary makes (starting in place before the port), monastery, church, etc.
In Forum Algarve at the beginning of the City, there is a shopping center with supermarket and shops such as Zara, Timberland, Massimo Dutti u. A.
2) Ria Formosa Nature Reserve before Faro. Here you can go out with a motor boat or kayak. Very beautiful!
3) Loulé (15-20 minutes): Cute medieval town in the hinterland, Saturdays market
4) Quarteira (10-15 minutes): Here in the covered market you can buy fresh fish daily.
5) Almancil: Next village with many Reaurants and shops. Here the Church Sao Lorenzo with beautiful blue and white tiles is worth seeing
6) Quinta do Lago: Buganvilla Plaza Mall. Some part "high end" - boutiques and restaurants.
The restaurants on the beach of Vale do Lobo and the adjacent parts of Dunas Douradas are - because you are right on the water - more expensive than the restaurants in Almancil or in the hinterland. But this one has "beach feeling".
In Vale do Lobo is located at the front desk, a gym, spa area with sauna and steam bath and an indoor pool -everything very well maintained. If you want to use the (which is chargeable) recommended evt. A Resort Welcome-Card
