About this property

Spring Cottage is a small house on a sheep farm at the foot of the Helderberg Escarpment, 25 minutes southwest of downtown Albany. Solar powered and sunlight filled, the Cottage is a quiet getaway in a bucolic setting only an hour from Saratoga Springs or fishing in the Catskill Mountains. A well appointed 24 foot by 24 foot structure, it’s not a Tiny House, but it is cozy. There’s a Queen size bed and a single fold-out on the main floor, and a sleeping loft that accommodates two children or one adult. The loft is accessible by a ladder, which may not be suitable for very small children. The maximum number of guests is five, with no more than three adults. WIFI and a fully equipped kitchen make this a functional home away from home. The open floor plan of the ground level has no stairs, nor are there stairs to enter the house, making it accessible to most.

Visiting Friends and Family

This was our second stay at Spring Cottage, and my husband and I are thrilled to have found a "home away from home" in which to land when we visit our family and friends in the Albany area. The farm is a beautiful setting (and the heritage sheep are oh so photogenic!!) and the cottage is bright, clean and comfortable. I love that it has a full refrigerator and a coffee maker AND English teakettle! Thank you Tabitha and Peter! This visit was too short and we are already looking forward to our next trip north from our home in PA.

Great place to stay!

Idyllic Stay at Spring Cottage

My husband and I highly recommend a stay at Spring Cottage at Moak’s Bend Farm. The setting was peaceful and lovely. The hosts could not have been nicer and respected our privacy. We found the cottage to be spotless, nicely decorated, and equipped with all the kitchen amenities one would need for a short stay. The bed was comfortable and the views from the living room and back deck were stunning. The location was superb - a short drive to Thacher Park, Indian Ladders Farms (excellent apples, cider, doughnuts, maple treats, etc. ) conveniences and downtown Albany. Be sure to check out Jim’s Tastee Freeze just outside of Delmar for exquisite soft serve ice cream in a million flavors. Try Brick House Pizza for delicious pizza and calzones made from scratch. These treats were our reward after hours of hiking with our dog. Thank you again, Tabitha and Peter for a wonderful holiday! We hope to return to Spring Cottage for a longer stay next year.
