Lakeside Cabin in Southern Illinois with Hot Tub!

Lakeside Cottage With 1 Bedroom And A Loft, Sleeps 4

Escape to our cozy lakeside cabin, perfect for families or romantic getaways. With 950 square feet of comfortable living space, our cabin comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests. The cabin's fully stocked kitchen and open dining and living areas are perfect for sharing meals together, and the fireplace creates a warm and inviting atmosphere during cool fall or winter nights. The main floor has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and full bath, while the upstairs loft is a special hideaway with two twin beds. Guests can also enjoy the screened back porch that overlooks the lake and has a private spa.

We offer a range of amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including an outdoor spa, outdoor fire pit (wood not provided), gas grill, outdoor furnishings, dishwasher, washer and dryer, stove, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, central heat and air, kitchen utensils, cookware, dishes, towels, linens, hairdryer, iron, and complimentary coffee supplies.

Our cabin is situated on Hohman Lake and is near the Shawnee National Forest. It's the perfect location for guests looking to hike and explore nature or visit nearby wineries. Renters may also swim or fish from the docks and kayaks on the lake. There are two kayaks for guest use. Please reach out to the owners prior to your stay for information on how to access the kayaks. Motorized boats are not permitted on the lake.

Please note that our cabin is an unplugged getaway, and therefore there is no cable or satellite service, internet connection, or landline phone service at the cabin. However, cell phone service for texting is good, and voice service is fair. If you need to stay connected, both Metropolis and Paducah public libraries have computer rooms available for use. Guests are welcome to bring their favorite movies for the DVD player or watch DVD’s provided at the cabin.

Very nice quiet place. Didn't realize there was no internet, no TV and lots of stairs. But would highly recommend if you just want to tune out the world. If older and can't do stairs, sadly not for you. Host was very kind and answered all questions I had.

The house was beautiful, and was decorated very nice! I loved that there were 3 tables to eat at! They were inside the house, on the screen porch, and outside on the patio! Sadly it was a very humid week, or we would have eaten outside a lot. I loved the wood ceilings in all of the rooms, because that's something I really like! The kitchen had everything that you could need to cook. The bedroom and bathroom were all decorated up to date and comfortable. I loved everything about this house and hope to stay here again in the future. I totally recommend staying here! I happened to meet Rachel, the owner of the house, and she was very friendly and great to talk with!

Beautiful cabin, just as listed. Had it's own dock on the lake for swimming and fishing. Great outdoor patio space with grill and fire pit. The hot tub and screened in porch were a treat after exploring several State Parks and Shawnee Forrest. Thanks for providing coffee, soft towels and a comfy bed. There is very limited cell service, which we knew when booking. We would highly recommend

Was clean kitchen clean but small but I do a lot of cooking with the family .did not use fireplace cause not sure what wood to use cause it said not to use outside wood. Host was great and had a great time be back again.

The Lakeside Cabin provides an unforgettable getaway experience that our family has enjoyed for years. We fell in love with the peaceful atmosphere of Hohman Lake and the opportunity to unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We especially love sitting on the dock and watching the beautiful sunsets (or sunrises for the early risers). We're thrilled to be able to offer this same experience to others. Plus, the cabin is conveniently located next to our other VRBO property, making it the perfect option for larger groups or families traveling together.

What makes this property unique

Our family's favorite aspect of the Lakeside Cabin was the lack of cable TV and internet. It allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of our surroundings and spend quality time reconnecting with each other. We understand that some may view this as an inconvenience, but for us, it was an opportunity to unplug and recharge. We want to provide that same opportunity to our guests who are looking for a place to disconnect from technology and focus on spending time with loved ones.
